Browse Forums Building A New House timeline after tender acceptance 2Jun 24, 2012 10:34 pm Yes, we received our colour pack after accepting our tender in Dec. Plans were then drawn ( this took 2 mths over Xmas period), then contracts were signed, colour appointment arranged quite soon afterwards, within 10 days. We were required to pick our brick before colour appointment was made so colour selections went with the brick. All other items selected while plans were in council. All of this took around 4 months. Hope this helps. Are you still looking at builders? Good luck with your future build! We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! We have accepted Champion Homes tender. It was a stressful decision as we also liked the Wisdom and Fowler designs but in the end liked the CH layout better and for a similar price the inclusions are better and have allowances for stormwater and thicker slab if required. How are you guys progressing? Re: timeline after tender acceptance 4Jun 26, 2012 12:52 pm Great idea Aheron to get the colour pack as soon as possible so you can start thinking about your bricks and what colour scheme will go with it. This part took us quite a while to decide. We received council approval approx 5 weeks ago. Since then a couple of issues with the slab have arisen and we didn't have extra provision for it, so we are going to be slugged extra $. Good idea that you have built in these provisions in your tender. We don't expect to have a slab for approx 4 more weeks. In what area are you building? We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! We are in the Hurstville council area (knock down rebuild) and im sure we will have some unexpected costs arising, so dont worry too much about it. Everyone that has been through this tells me we should be budgeting for 10% extra for issues like yours or anything else. I am sure it will be all worth it in the end. Re: timeline after tender acceptance 6Jun 27, 2012 12:24 am Aheron Hi everyone. Sounds like it's all moving pretty smoothly for you so far! Good luck with it! Re: timeline after tender acceptance 8Jun 27, 2012 6:27 pm Aheron - Yeh, slowly but surely. you definitely need patience and dont hesitate to hassle your sales consultant. Its their job and if they are good at it, they should look after you. Re: timeline after tender acceptance 9Jun 27, 2012 10:42 pm Ye I have already realised my patience is going to be tested severely over the next 12-18 months. So far our sales consultant has been good so hopefully continues that way. Re: timeline after tender acceptance 10Aug 05, 2012 6:44 pm Hi Aheron, how is your building with Champion Homes progressing.
