Browse Forums Building A New House Re: our first home, custom split level - colour help please! 221Feb 08, 2013 4:51 pm thanks suh, that is such a pretty colour, will definitely it to the list! onewheel, the new lounge we bought will go in the living room near the kitchen and we've currently got a chocolate brown and clear glass (green tinge) dining table (which may or may not be replaced by a solid chocolate brown table in the near future) with beige chairs. and tv unit is also chocolate brown. nothing that will really clash with any colour splashback. hi ragnarswife! my favourite food is definitely chocolate!!! not sure if i would like a brown splashback though, and now that ive just listed our furniture ive realised we've probably got enough chocolate coloured stuff good thinking though - and thank you for helping me figure out there is a colour i dont want got prices today for quantum quartz delux range ($1111) and caesarstone standard range ($1221) - i dont have a price for quantum quartz standard range so dont know how it compares. ill probably just play it safe and stick with white Timeline Land deposit 14.9.10 Land settled 16.6.11 DA submitted 13.3.12 DA appoved 17.5.12 Construction cert 6.7.12 Site scrape 23.7.12 Lock up 29.11.12 Re: our first home, custom split level - colour help please! 222Feb 08, 2013 4:56 pm that is the best bet do you have to pay extra just for white Re: our first home, custom split level - colour help please! 223Feb 08, 2013 5:46 pm yeah i think that's what ill do. lucky i like white!! there are a couple of white-ish ones (like the one in our kitchen) that we wont have to pay extra for. i didnt end up giving the stone people an answer today so i guess ive bought myself a few more days to change my mind a thousand times. god i hate being so indecisive sometimes. I'm not much help with the glass splashback and I deleted ours and went with white tiles. If it were me I would keep it as simple as possible so that over the years it matched whatever decorating trend I was on but it is such a small amount that you are looking at because of the window you could get away with a bolder colour too. I love really soft greys or greige colours or even just white. Hard decision, just keep looking at images and one will catch your eye. Re: our first home, custom split level - colour help please! 225Feb 14, 2013 8:24 pm Thanks tash it's been a pretty stressful week trying to decide on these colours and organise our trades for asap when we get the keys. but decisions have been made and we have everyone (except driveway) booked in. We gave notice on our rental on Monday so we’ve got that until the 11th and we're are still expecting keys on 1 march (or maybe earlier but the builder told me not to get too excited). i got inside last night and found that upstairs has been painted. couldnt get in tonight but could see that downstairs has been painted too. finally locked in a splashback colour today!!! dulux red stop! also decided to get frameless shower screens today. ouch. here are some pics inside last night and through the windows tonight splashback colour is the one on the right Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ pool room Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ through living room window Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ through kitchen window Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ upstairs sitting room Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ main bedroom Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ bedroom 2 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ step in the theatre Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ can just tell that the theatre has been painted Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ the stone people will be installing vanity bench tops tomorrow. i stayed with the safe option of luna white. the electrician is booked for tuesday, plumber for wednesday and cleaners for thursday! so excited, i cant believe it's nearly finished. fingers crossed next week runs smoothly. Roomba for every day (if you have animals and or kids) and dyson for every couple of weeks to blitz it. So unbelievably happy with the roomba, we have 3 cats and 2 kids with floorboards downstairs and carpet upstairs. The roomba keeps downstairs in check every day and I'll pop it upstairs once a week. Too easy. Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43846 Re: our first home, custom split level - painted! 229Feb 14, 2013 9:45 pm The house is looking beautiful! Anyway, am really loving your grey pebble walls and think a double strength grey pebble splash back would be lovely. I like lots of different tones rather than assorted colours. Didn't quite achieve that with our colours though!!!! Anyway, am really loving your grey pebble walls and think a double strength grey pebble splash back would be lovely. I like lots of different tones rather than assorted colours. Didn't quite achieve that with our colours though!!!! hi nina! and welcome, even if it is by accident your post made me laugh and get a bit jealous. i love the idea of a roomba but dont think i will be allowed one after spending so much on the hide a hose. Im loving the grey pebble walls too, it was a bit of a gamble coz there isn’t a paint card so I was just going off photos on the net but i think it looks good and just what i wanted. although i do love tash's tranquil retreat. My first thought when I saw downstairs painted was that a double strength splashback would have looked really nice, but id looked in the big dulux colour book at mitre 10 and the next colours along from grey pebble seemed to get too browny for me. I hope the red looks good. Onewheel The house is looking beautiful! Love the paint colours you have chosen and the red splash back will look fabulous! So exciting Thanks onewheel, I hope so too, about the splashback and the tradies! seriously cant believe she'll be ours in 2 weeks TashnStu77 Wow, where did a red splashback some from Em? It will look great. Hey tash, a red splashback has been on and off the cards for about 6 months I reckon. On Monday I thought I was going to choose a bluey grey splashback but started playing around in paint with pictures of our furniture and pendants and, while I really like blue, we don’t have anything blue, everything is grey or brown. This photo was the clincher for me! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ribbon Em.Russ its all looking amazing! Great choice on the splashback and the paint looks great too. Thanks ribbon. The most practical colour. For your Splashback, it's so small I wouldn't put red or any bright colour, you want your focus on the window. Me, because its small so won't cost too much, I would use the small stone on your benchtops on the Splashback. That way it will blend in and you focus on the window.
