Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 21, 2012 2:20 pm G’day all, I’m fairly new to this forum, and am very new to building houses having never done it before. We are currently discussing a few options with a few different builders, one of whom is Celebration Homes. Our floor plan is nearly finished and we are nearly ready to sign our preliminary works contract. However, before we agree to sign up with Celebration Homes, does anyone know how negotiable their prices are. Our current wishlist is coming in at over our budget and we’re not sure how many things we need to remove from the list, and how many things (if any) the builder/sales rep is likely to include for free so that we hit our budget. Another builder specifically stated that as his quote was over our budget too, we could make an offer that he would put to his boss and see what they could do. Any thoughts/ideas would be most welcome... We are going to have loads of other questions, so we’ll be back, but I just wanted to ask this one for now as we’re very keen to get signed up and make some progress. Thanks Re: Celebration Homes - how negotiable are their prices? 2Jun 21, 2012 3:48 pm with the way the building industry is atm, you do have a bit of bargaining power. if you really want to go with celebration, tell your salesman that you can get xxx from builder a, and see what he says. if he is good at his job, he should give you some things. thats what we did with ours.....didnt play 2 builders off each other as such, but just made out we didnt care if they couldnt give us what we wanted, we would just go with the other builder. [although they didnt know that we really really wanted to go with them anyway...but dont let them know that]. all the best and hope you get what you want. Tradie may sit at home but will need to get house plastered as well or will you sit it out? 6 9971 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74709 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
