Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Bedroom Size 21Jun 19, 2012 11:42 am That sounds good Deb. I think if it could fit a double bed in the future if not immediatley thats fine. Re: Bedroom Size 22Jun 20, 2012 7:12 am our master is gonna be 3.8x3.5 , bedrooms 3 and 4 have been extended 4.9x2.7, this however is mainly due to extending the house by 1200mm for the alfresco area. But I remember being a kid love playing toys in my room, so this extra length will be perfect for my little one. Re: Bedroom Size 23Jun 20, 2012 7:24 am We don't have children. Our room is 5 x 4.5, bed 2 is 4.5 x 3.6, bed 3 is 3.1 x 3.0 & bed 4 is 2.9 x 2.9. There is enough room for a bed, desk and toys or whatever when we have children. Built the Seaview 36 with Rawson Homes - Read about it on my blog http://lamaisondemorgan.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Bedroom Size 24Jun 20, 2012 8:00 am In my opinion (which may or may not differ from others - which is okay because what a boring world we would live in if everyone had the same opinion!!!) a minimum bedroom size would be approx 3.2x3.3...... just my opinion.... don't yell at me!!! In our build - Master bed is 3.8 x 6.5, bed 2 is 3.8 x 3.2, bed 3 is 3.5 x 3.5, bed 4 is 3.6 x 3.3, bed 5 is 3.8 x 3.5. The master, bed2 and 3 all have a desk nook and all also have either WIR or BIR. Re: Bedroom Size 25Jun 20, 2012 9:00 am In the little old ex-fibro ex-2-bedroom vinyl-clad-in-the-70's whacky-2-extra-bedrooms-added-in-the-80's leaky 50's house which will be replaced by the new house, we're actually using the 2nd bedroom as our main bedroom. We had one wall converted to a built-in, and if I recall from our calculations, the room is 3.2m x 2.6m (not including the build-in). The queen-sized bed & bedside tables either-side only juuust fit across the 2.6m width, and there's room for a ... don't know what you call it, dresser maybe, against the wall behind the foot of the bed. IMHO the room would be the perfect size, if there were a walk-in robe big enough to get dressed in &/or an ensuite. I don't want a bedroom any bigger than that for dust etc reasons, but as it is it's too small for both of us to get dressed in because there's no room to get past each other. Our new home will have a bigger master bedroom (as well as walk-ins and an ensuite), but mostly because we're getting a project home & that fits with the design (if we could get more usable walk-in and less unused floor-area in the bedroom we probably would ). Re: Bedroom Size 26Jun 20, 2012 11:15 am My house im building will be as follows.. Master bedroom 5.3x3.3 not including ensuite and walk in robe. Bedroom 2 is 3.9x3.2 and bedroom 3 is 3.6x2.5 both including built in robes. Personally bedroom 3 is on the narrow side, if I thought of it earlier I should have extended it in line with the laundry and it would have made the short wall atleast 2.9m... This is my first house/first build and im more honestly looking at resale value as i know it wont be the house i live in forever, or renting it out in a couple of years time, so having rooms that were average or bigger were a key point.. But doesnt allways fit the budget or block size! Personally, considering your layout (study/work desks in bedrooms), I don't think you have any other option but to leave NW windows and make them as big as possible e.g.… 7 10470 Hi, I'm planning to build a new house and wanted to get some feedback on the different window designs for a master bedroom. Our bedroom is north facing and the bed will… 0 4554 1 15753 |
