Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 15, 2012 11:14 pm Hey there everyone, Long time stalkers of this forum but newbie members and posters. We are building a Burbank Prescott in Aston. It's a cute, comfy relaxed lifestyle designed house perfect for us - we want something relaxing and not high maintenance with our busy lives. Yes that includes no more than 3 hours top to toe cleaning a week. Just wouldn't have the time to ever clean a monster double storey or ever require that much space Just thought we would start our own thread now to get the ball rolling. Land has settled and fingers crossed build should start August - still a bit of admin to get through with contract finalisation and the developers design review panel too of course. So I will update our colour selections tomorrow evening. Nice to watch all of your builds and see so many different ideas. I admit I love all the photos too, so I promise I will update with lots once the build finally begins. Re: Our Burbank Prescott 2Jun 16, 2012 9:55 am looking forward to watching your build come to life. cant wait to see your color selections. thats always my favourite! Re: Our Burbank Prescott 4Jun 17, 2012 11:11 pm Hi - thanks guys appreciate the welcome and yes another Burbankian!!! Well I shall now write up our colours - I know everyone loves this part just as do I! Lots of detail - maybe a bit much but anyway.. oh and photo colours a little off sorry taken with my Blackberry! Tiles, Carpet, Cabinets, Stone Benchtops, Splashback, Laundry Splashback, Bath hob, Bathroom Feature tiles & Paint colours Same again but closer of feature tiles, paint samples and holland blind sample My pendant lights over kitchen bench which I adore - having a real resort zen like feel to the whole house These lights had only been in Edge for a week! Lucky me and apparently in all the new Burbank display homes! Also brought another two rattan pendants today from Beacon for the entrance and halfway down the hallway similar to these but flat at the top and bottom will have to post another pic later... Do you have to get recycled water as part of your estate? Re: Our Burbank Prescott 6Jun 18, 2012 10:12 pm Thanks for that!! Yes part of the estate - good in a way for the garden and washing the cars etc but they were $1,500 just for the taps and to be connected to the recycled water in the estate. I think I would have preferred tanks but I guess then I would need a pump etc so cost wise probably the same... We have quite a few estate design requirements that adds about 12K to the average house....recycled water being one of them.. Re: Our Burbank Prescott 8Jun 28, 2012 9:15 am Beautiful colors dancoop. and that pendant light wish they were there when we had our edge appointment. sorry did you mention what facade you were having? cant wait to see everything come to life! Re: Our Burbank Prescott 9Jul 05, 2012 7:38 am Hey Guys,
Thanks to everyone for your feedback Haven't been on for a while been away with work o/s nice to be back and have internet connection again that works!! Thanks Nayzv - love the lights having a resortr/bali like theme throughout the house and garden so they fitted into that theme perfectly... Our lights for our hallway I did forget to put my facade in whoops!! Just going for Traditional, my estate wasn't happy with the others - we did like one but not the square pole that ran down the front if that makes sense - it was covered in tiles looks fantastic now BUT I think it would date really quickly and possibly look rather BLAH in a few years with weather etc... So traditional with lots of upgrades - eaves to front of house back to 3.5m behind facade, 25 degree roof pitch, sectional coloured door, bricks above garage door and render... So all up cost us about 6k for the changes... Hopefully looks nice - fairly plain but once the garden is in - we get 4.5k of landscaping included!! Really excited about that we are going for the Zen garden.. only problem being hope my neighbours dont go for the same! But we will add extra planting to it of course as no doubt they will scrimp a bit with the plants...what they say its worth and what you get probably different... I purchased a very beautful new concrete reclining buddha for our new house shes very serene just what I need and a water feature as well which we fell in love with! Will post pics on weekend, I'm off again for a few days and shall post on the weekend. Water feature (actual is in wooden crate and not being installed until move in!) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our start is probably not going to be until Sept now bit annoyed apparently admin were flat out doing all the first home buyer contracts with the grant finishing and ours not being part of a grant just managed to slip to the bottom of the pile - funny that....Oh well hopefully better weather then anyway but obviosly will not be in for Xmas - nothing we can do about it so no point mouching! Another note I also purchased some gorgeous wallpaper for our bedroom - going to look amazing!e Only on the wall behind our bed as a feature wall.. It was a bargain normally 140 a roll got them for 39 each so 3 rolls for less than 1 original price!!! Spoken like a true bargain hunter Will post that pic soon too Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Have a great day everyone Re: Our Burbank Prescott 10Jul 06, 2012 8:26 pm Sounds wonderful your plans for inside & outside of your house. Re: Our Burbank Prescott 16Jul 12, 2012 10:26 pm Hi All, Thanks for the feedback, yeah we are planning on planting gorgoeus clumping bamboo all around the back yard to block out the neighbours (non existant now) but wont be long until we all start building and pretty tight blocks we on so keep my serenity and maintain our own bit of paradise!Keep in with the theme and all.. Now for all wallpaper hunters here is the link below to my wallpaper and you will see the MANY specials they have so many!! Enjoy and hopefully you can track down a bargain and find something you adore too!!! http://www.eurowalls.com.au/stock-sale/ ... ption-1253 When ordered it did say up to 28 day delivery but arrived within two days!! So excellent service and beautiful european products Re: Our Burbank Prescott 17Jul 14, 2012 11:58 pm Well I trotted off to the home show today - was pretty good lots of suppliers under one roof is always great. I have now decided I am having white plantation shutters in our bedroom and also the side light next to the front door. As this is the only window to the St being single fronted I think it will look very slick and continue the resort like theme. Only problem being I have already paid for Holland Blinds with Burbank so will have a spare blind! Guess I can always Ebay it!!! I was going to have holland then drapes over the top, but re thought this today because: A. Visability into the bedroom from the St - if I have blind up everyone sees in and even if I have drapes half closed they still see in!!!I love lots of space and light so don't want to have to have my blind down when we are in bed on a lazy sunday morning with coffee and newspaper waving to our neighbours accross the road while out mowing their lawns!!!! B. LOOVVEEE the look of shutters - seen a few on this forum and they are very beautiful. Quote today was $1,500 for bedroom but worth it I think... What do you guys think?? Re: Our Burbank Prescott 18Jul 15, 2012 9:59 am Had white plantation shutters in our last house and loved them. Very expensive though, but worth it! With the new house we did holland blinds through builder too with intentions of one day changing some of them. Re: Our Burbank Prescott 19Jul 15, 2012 3:55 pm we love the shutter look but after getting a quote or two were scared off approx 3k for the area we wanted to do (living/dining/kitchen) good job on the shutters you will love em, i work in alot of different homes and they really impress me when i see them there, my wife also wants a wallpaper wall in couple of rooms so will check the link - very handy Thanks Dancoop good work Re: Our Burbank Prescott 20Jul 15, 2012 5:45 pm Mum has dark almost black stained plantation shutters in her bedroom and everytime I walk in there I feel like I could walk straight out of them into her garden( she's gone retreat also) I love them! Wish our budget would allow us to get them! Love the wallpaper link too, made me want to do every room in the house! Hi All, Recently we have signed a contract with Burbank and we are not aware that they have just DORSET, SURREY, HAMPSHIRE, KENT, PILBARA and REDGUM bricks from PGH are… 0 3168 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23787 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23922 |
