Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Burbank Prescott - SLABALICIOUS~!!!!!! 41Oct 13, 2012 8:44 pm Well well, we are SLABBED!!!! We are really so wrapped when we checked today and the concretors were there completing the slab! Very very excited the weird thing is, most slabs look teeny tiny and you think have they done that right?? Ours looks bigger - how very strange!! Oh and its nice and high rather than bogged into the block - going to have a bit of a gradient on the driveway, which I am happy about easier to wash the car water flows off... makes the front yard a bit more exciting too, another level - we have 4k landscaping with our home through the developer so looking at the block by the time the driveways is in the 4k will cover it easy - very exciting now we begin officially!!! Re: Our Burbank Prescott - BRICKS PICS 47Nov 13, 2012 9:08 pm Welcome Aston Boy firstly to the forum here and welcome to Aston Great choice of estate if I do say!! When are you settling on your land in stage 7?? Exciting times hey.. If youre looking for a builder cannot recommend BB enough... Thanks to you also Gremlin, BB are really firing along like yours did Gremlin so we are very very happy about that.... One month since slab and bricks are half finished we think lock up by Friday and bricks definately finished then...Yay its almost a proper house So more pics I know everyone loves them Loving did we say loving our bricks so excited at how brilliant they look was a littl scared about colour but wow love them and the different chocolates, creams, blacks and reds they have.. which is why we choose monument gutters and windows to pick up dark colour combinations and the dune for fascia and garage sectional door to pick up the creams and milo like colours... with jasper render will look very spiffy.... So so glad we changed our mind about the dark chocolate bricks a few have them near us and they are tooo dark bit dull so very very happy Bricks half way in two days, tilers back and finished grouting roof, sparkies have done rough in, we have a bath and hws panels...so its all happening...big thanks to my SS and admin shes wonderful... When are you settling on your land in stage 7?? Exciting times hey.. If youre looking for a builder cannot recommend BB enough... Thanks dancoop. Our block titles April next year. We are very happy with the outcome and got the block at a nice price to cover what will be higher site costs due to the slope. We looked at Burbank and were highly impressed. Just couldn't quite get the floorplan we liked. We are going to be building with Henley (Monaco Nouveau Q1). We are highly psyched to be moving in when the time comes. We took a drive around stage 1 and could see all the building progressing nicely... Exciting times. Look forward to your updates. Re: Our Burbank Prescott 51Nov 19, 2012 5:05 pm Dancoop! your flying along. leave one of your windows unlocked and ajar. then you can climb through and look inside when your locked up The feeling of not being able to get inside your house is sooooo frustrating. Have a fab week everyone Re: Our Burbank Prescott 54Nov 27, 2012 8:10 am Its all bringing back memories Dancoop! everything is looking fab! Re: Our Burbank Prescott 55Nov 28, 2012 12:49 pm Thanks Aston Boy totally agree - I used to think the same but these tradies are guns! Funny when I built about 8 years ago on our property, our golden lab who was a character used to go wandering every morning and come back in about 15 minutes after checking our the fencelines to ensure all was safe Anyway the people next door started building and it seemed his little morning runs were getting longer and longer until one day I was ready to go to work and I couldn't find him! So i walked over to the house getting built and asked the tradies if they had spotted him around - they laughed and said oh that lab there - here he was drinking half a large chocolate Big M and had just consumed a meat pie that the tradies told me they had been buying for him everyday the last week!! Well done to them, typical Lab garbage disposal unit he was a classic and knew how to play them beautifully!! Thanks Nayzv - they are flying just like your place! It's only been 6 and a half weeks and our kitchen, bathrooms and laundry cabinets and sinks were fitted yesterday!! Plaster finished and electrician has started making the holes for the lights in the ceilings and the powerpoints.... will post images later!! If only Christmas was 6 weeks away and we would be in!! Been told mid Feb now because of the Christmas shutdown of 3 weeks so if only. However we are off to the very gorgeous Ubud for 9 days in that time so all good Will post pics later!! Re: Our Burbank Prescott 56Dec 06, 2012 9:37 pm Well in one week we have lock up and fixing!! Just amazing not even 8 weeks - if not for Christmas we would be finished in 11 weeks! Re: Our Burbank Prescott 60Jan 31, 2013 10:34 am I hadn't realised this build was just across the road - I initially considered Aston but ended up buying in Highlands. I've been tempted to drop in across the road though and see how Aston is coming along. No updates for a month - what state is everything in currently?
