Sounds like a good idea - and not a bad cost either...

I want to upgrade the c/s from 20 to 40mm, and also add 20mm c/s to the bathroom/ensuite...I'm hoping PD can give me some idea of costs today but my s/c still hasn't rung me back to tell me which display he will be at...

I have heard that once you have a s/c then the other s/c don't really want to deal with you, I'm hoping they will atleast give me the inclusions and extras cost lists

Your S/C can provide you with the price of some of the upgrades but not all. For eg, for the upgrade to be done at color selection (which include tapware, c/s, doors), it will only be known during tender or contract.

One minor "issue" we had with PD is that you won't be able to know how much each of the upgrade is at the color selection appointment as they don't have the prices. You will have to wait till tender or contract appointment, which just make it difficult for you to budget before that.

Just checked out the details of the servery

Provide a servery upstand to Kitchen island bench (Dining side only). Construction to be a painted 180mm plaster lined stud wall, extending approx 200mm above bench top. Extension above bench to be tiled (standard builders range tiles) in accordance with relevant Building Regulations. End panels of Kitchen bench to extend past base cabinet and abut servery upstand wall. Note: Price includes 300mm wide Quantum Quartz bench top (category 1 colours) with 20mm edge (square or pencil round) to match the item selected in the Porter Davis Complete Living 07 Promotion.

As we have the glass splachback as part of the promotion we also get it here too. We thought it was worth the cost.

hi there,

Just in terms of the facade and eaves. If you are thinking of eaves on the ground floor bear in mind they will add to the overall width of the house and hence mean you will need a wider block. The distance to the fence line is taken from the eaves not the walls. I think they add about 1m to the width of the house

Hi guys!

Well we are back from the displays - gorgeous homes PD does!

We LOVE the Cremorne 41 - we only visited the Derrimut displays but we know its the home for us.

I got the brochure with standard inclusions and the extras too - which is a big help.

Can I ask for those building the Cremorne, what does the standard pantry look like? The one in the display had a sink but hardly any shelf space to store pantry food items, I wasn't really after the sink (which was an extra) and would prefer more shelves, what is everyone else doing?

I also liked the step down part they had to the study and formal lounge - sort of seperated the rest of the house....

Overall very impressed!!!

KerrieJ - Good point! I never thought of eaves on the ground floor, will take it into account when looking for blocks

M & M - Sounds like a great design - and a good price too, will love to see pics when you are done

Hysterical - Yep I get what you mean, it would be better to know the costs of everything there and then b4 you sign up so you know you can actually afford the house you want, thats what we hoped for so we have a more accurate idea of how much to spend on land.....

Hi Bel,
In our pantry we have added the double door cabinet under the bench and we have included the under bench shelf to wrap round and meet up with the cabinet. On top we have lowered the the 2 rear shelves as they wasted too much space being that high, and also made the top shelf come out further so its inline with the one below as it was too shallow.

We didn't opt for the in wall pot drawers as it eats into the space below the staircase too much - the kids need a cubby house :lol:

The step down looks nice, although I thought you tended to loose the effect of the higher ceilings as they actaully raise the floor.

Yep what you have done sounds much better! I agree the tio shelves were too high - I would never reach anything!!!

I also like the idea of added cupboard space!

I didn't even know those drawers ate into the understair storage. i wouldn't get them either in that case !!

Looking now there are quite a few extras I want so we will see how over budget I go...

Who do PD use for bricks/roof tiles and what is standard..out of interest..

I like Austral's Melbourne range :wink:

We have added in the bench and sink to the pantry. The bench will be used for all those appliances. We wanted to add a second dishwaster which we already have for when we have parties etc. We alway find that people (Not mentioning any names) start washing the dishes when they should be drinking!!!

Also we have added two voids to the pantry instead of the drawers. This will have a fridge and a freezer. We can turn them off if required. Once again we have these items in storage waiting for us.

We will be adding overhead cupboards later on in the pantry and under the bench top. We demolished our house and all the cupboards from that will fit in the pantry!!!

M & M - wow what a fantastic idea!! While we are not big entertainers the set up you described is perfect for people that are. Thats the good thing about the pantry - there is so much space you can do all that!!!

The void in the wall for the freezer sounds like a great idea - DH has always wanted a second freezer, however, we didn't think we would have room to put it anywhere....

For PD Lifestyle, the bricks/roof tiles used are from Boral. I remember there are about 6 different bricks which are standard and as usual, the rest are extra.

Best to pop in to Hopetoun in Port Melbourne on the weekend as they have them on display. That will help you find out which are the standard range.

We only added the pot drawers in the pantry to utilise the space under the stairs. Not sure if you need it, but we added a power point and batten point under the stairs (good wine storage eventually).

I like the batton idea under the stairs - we have one in our current house and love it for finding things in the dark :lol:

Epiphany - Can I ask how much they charged to close off the stufy/formal lounge?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner - haven't been back online since that post.

The cost to block off the study opening & put double doors in instead was $379.

Cost to block off formal lounge with double doors & additional plaster stud wall to reduce opening was $660.

By doing both of these, we had to remove the bulkhead above the openings & the decorative pillars on either side of the opening to the lounge/dining room.

We also blocked off those silly openings the Wentworth has in the wall between the lounge & formal lounge. Plus, we put doors in all ensuites, the walk-in-wardrobe in one of the bedrooms upstairs (not all were suitable for the doors PD offered), & a myriad of other variations.

I'm not sure what the house you're looking at is like but in the Wentworth, the downstairs has a higher ceiling, so there's a bulkhead above the openings.

I had just assumed everyone puts doors on their ensuites, etc. But our site supervisor said it's amazing how many people don't. I personally couldn't stand the lack of privacy. If we hadn't, our ensuite would have been visible from the street. Now, I'm not a complete bush pig but I'm sure no one (& I mean no one) wants to see me naked when they're walking down the road...
