Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 13, 2012 4:09 pm Finally we have all our contracts signed! We saw the bank manger last night and signed all the paperwork now all we need to do is wait till friday for the land settlement Yay. We are building our first home and I don't think we'll know our selves with the space we are going to have. Our plans are custom designed by our designer/ (they have been wonderful and make it so easy to do ). I can't wait to see how the house comes together. Hopefully by Christmas this year we will be in our brand spanking new home Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 3Jun 15, 2012 10:30 am Bugger they changed settlment date back to Monday. I would love to not anything to do with austral in deer park ever again after the complete lack of service but the next option is just too much of a stretch for the budget. 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 10Jul 04, 2012 7:09 am We got council approval back last night - yay hopefully sometime soon we will see some movement on the block! 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 11Jul 04, 2012 7:24 am Congratulations! Which estate are you building in? Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 13Jul 05, 2012 7:20 am The selection went well, still need to confirm we can get the brick we want but at this stage we are looking at Roof: Woodland Grey Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bricks: very simliar colour to the Austrial Blackwood but I need to get the name of it and will depend on if it's in our budget or not. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Grout: Grey Windows: Either Pottery or magnolia (depend on which bricks we get) Gutters and downpipes: I think will be sandbank. I know what I like but there where so many options lol Caz76 - we are building in the Pentland park estate. 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 14Jul 05, 2012 7:57 am here is the closest thing I can find to the front door Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ and bathroom fittings/taps are all standard range from Reece Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 15Jul 05, 2012 3:41 pm Hi N2B3, any movement on your block yet? What internal colours do you have in mind? I was surprised by your experience with Austral - we had a bad experience with Boral (basically, 3/4 of their range is "currently unavailable", we were honestly given a selection of 2 bricks we could choose from) so we went to Austral and they made us feel that they actually wanted our business - always a good thing! So even though it will cost us more, we are happy to make the change to them. We are in NSW though. I love your plan - it looks very easy to live in. What is the M/P room? Also, I'm curious about your garage door placement - my DH was adamant about having internal access to/from the garage, I would like to hear another perspective. Cheers, K Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 16Jul 05, 2012 4:10 pm Just found out the surveyor has been and checked all the pegs. Should be having the pipes put down very soon. Not long till we will see a slab! We are having coffee coloured bamboo boards so we will base the colours inside around that, not 100% sure yet. We just found out we can get the alternative bricks so yay us! The supplier is local and very helpful as they are a small family business. The service has been fantatsic. As for Austral, they may be great if your building with a big project builder but they are rude in Deer park if your not. M/P - is multipupose room or my hubby's paint room We have done that so if we want to sell it later it can be used as a bredroom or whatever someone wants it to be. Same with the study, we made it a bit bigger for that reason. We have since changed plans to inculde it (not a standard thing according to our builder) We wanted it due to the very bad weather we have, no way do I want to lug things around to the front door. We are going to have some decent locks on that door though. 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 17Jul 06, 2012 12:46 pm Woo hoo for movement on the block Your colours are so similar to ours! I think they are great classic colours which won't date too badly. See here if you like viewtopic.php?f=31&t=57811 We are thinking colourbond surfmist for our fascias instead of sandbark, I am worried it will be too light though I might need to steal yours! I was sold on the coffee bamboo floors (and am still in two minds about it) it is beautiful, I love all the variations. But then my DH found this new product he loves called Timbernate, basically a really really thin layer of real wood rather than a laminate, in QLD spotted gum so I think we are leaning that way. So happy you got the good bricks that was our biggest disappointment when we found out our lack of options and having to pay so much extra to get anything like what we wanted, but such a relief when it is sorted! Clever idea with the MP and study Fingers crossed you see a slab soon! Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 18Jul 06, 2012 2:20 pm I like your lay out. We thought about surmist too but I ended up thinking it was too light when I put it with other colours. We are now going for the pottery windows. I am aiming for classic colours! They think we are going to get some pipes layed on monday 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 19Jul 17, 2012 2:05 pm We have movement on the block today. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17511 2 9419 This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this. As for the unscheduled site visits, most builders are quite… 1 28290 |
