House - Lockup completed 23rd December 2011 - Painters are in!!! https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=37261&start=0&hilit=Blaxland Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 22Jul 18, 2012 9:40 am N2B3 looking good so far, you may have thought of this already, but the garage door to inside if your putting good locks on it have you thought about the door? If the builder thinks it's an internal door it will probably end up being a hollow core door, where as external doors are usually solid! No point having great locks on a hollow door, don't take much to break them! Good luck with the rest of the build, your miles in front of us, signed in November, still waiting on land titles, we are building in wallan 2 Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 23Jul 18, 2012 10:40 am We have discussed that with our builder stormjr, they are treating like an external door so it's going to be harder to beak in. It was one of my first thoughs with it. We where luck, our land was already titles just before we decided to build. Start of the year we though we would be at least another year before we even though about building. We only started this process at the end of April 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh 24Jul 19, 2012 7:05 am more progress.....we should have concreters here today Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh - We have a slab yay 25Jul 20, 2012 1:54 pm We now have a slab 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh - We have a slab yay 26Jul 21, 2012 4:35 pm We went for our color selection today Pretty happy now as it didn't take too long Walls:Taubmans Martini Ceilings: Taubmans Martini 1/4 Arch & Skirts:Taubmans Torte Doors:Taubmans Torte Floors:Bamboo - coffee Kitchen Cupboards: Wilsonart Velvet Shimmer Bench: Wilsonart Cashmere Shimmer Splashback: 300x600 Mocha Linea Laundry Bench: Wilsonart Cashmere Shimmer Cupboards: Wilsonart Velvet Shimmer Splashback: 100x300 Coffee Gloss Bathrooms will both be in coffee colors. Slab already and colours The colours are beautiful, it is going to feel so warm and delicious with the coffee tones. Ours didn't take too long either, but I broke the cardinal rule - I had everything picked out beforehand but when we got in there I decided to change our vanities from natural white to Avignon Walnut. My DH just rolled his eyes at me but I am still loving it so maybe my gut instinct will be right Congrats! Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh - We have a slab yay 28Jul 25, 2012 7:07 am I knew the colour scheme I wanted just not the exact colours - the guy that helped us was great I showed him a picture of what I liked plus the sample of our floors and he put it all togther in 1/2 hour I am easy to please - no white cupboards and a nuteral scheme. I think he was expecting me to pick "out there" colours from the look on his face when he first saw us (I have pink, purple and black hair) I am counting down the days till we have some more action only another 2 weeks to go - our builder leaves the slab for at least 3 weeks. 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh - We have a slab yay 29Jul 27, 2012 8:50 am raining today - that is meant to be good for the slab isn't? 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh - oooh I see wood 30Aug 03, 2012 9:59 am Yay went to the block and found lots of wood ..... how cool Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh - Lovely, lovely bricks go away 31Aug 10, 2012 12:51 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Now it's feeling real - bricks and windows 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh - Lovely, lovely bricks go away 32Aug 15, 2012 8:53 pm I love seeing your build - from my perspective it is happening so quickly (I am sure it is slow for you!) Woo hoo for windows and walls! Have you been walking through your rooms? It is looking huge! Very excited for you, hope the rain stays away so you can get bricked! Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh - Lovely, lovely bricks go away 33Aug 16, 2012 7:00 am It feel really slow! I am so glald we aare not waiting on titles or anything like some people. I don't think I could have waited a year to see the first stages. I haven't been able to walk though yet as it's always dark when I get home. I am hoping to be able to this weekend. The kitchen/lounge area is a lot bigger than I thought (looked small with just the slab) but we have very little garden and lots of house. Perfect as we are not big gardeners. 29/05/12 - Contacts Signed 18/06/12 - Land Settlement 03/07/12 - Building Approval 20/07/12 - Slab Down Re: Our Build Bacchus Marsh - Lovely, lovely bricks go away 34Aug 17, 2012 7:25 pm I am feeling like the paperwork is taking forever, hopefully once building starts it will go up as quick as yours! We didnt have to wait on titles, just lots of to and fro-ing with the builder. I am on board with the not gardening - we will be having lots of grass and maybe a few trees if we are feeling adventurous Have a lovely time walking through your new rooms! This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 8 17190 2 9385 This certainly doesn't look good. I would be engaging with an independent inspector to have a look at this. As for the unscheduled site visits, most builders are quite… 1 28161 |
