Re: Building the "Clarendon Crestmead" 44Oct 27, 2008 10:43 pm lobo Hello Bobbuilder, well we have made progress for sure .. so far SLAB DONE FRAME DONE ROOF PENDING photos soon .. Wow you guys are lucky we've had nearly a year of our time wasted by these people, we've had approval for months and demolished 2 months ago and all we have is 4 red pegs in the ground, then we get a letter today saying they can't start for another 6 weeks, do they realise thats Christmas. Good luck with the build, we're losing all confidence in this company. Re: Building the "Clarendon Crestmead" 46Nov 04, 2008 6:34 pm Yeah, c'mon Lobo. How's it going? Re: Building the "Clarendon Crestmead" 49Dec 12, 2008 2:01 pm bobbuilder woohooo photooos I have put some more on the same post to make up for the delay.. We had to change the brick from Austral Castlereigh to Austral - Governors range - GIPPS.. The story was the day the bricks were to arrive Clarendon informed me that the bricks were not availabe .. result was a stop work for 3 works .. it took us 2 hours to select another brick that by the way Austral provided at no extra cost ! And before that of course we had the drafting error on Plans that resulted another 2 weeks being lost because a window was shown incorrectly.. we again resolved this within 1/2 a day at the council .. Now the story with the Floor boards exposed to weather for so long.... are there any more fools building with Clarendon like me ? I wonder Buildling a Clarendon Crestmead in Sydney DA Approved on 20/03/2008 Slab Poured on 02/09/2008 Frame Completed 15/10/2008 Brickwork Complete 2/02/2009 Roofwork Complete 05/03/2009 Re: Building the "Clarendon Crestmead" 50Dec 12, 2008 2:03 pm Oh that's good that you got the upgrade for free though... aren't the governors range a bit more expensive? C&G -------------------------------- A new building chapter begins.. Re: Building the "Clarendon Crestmead" 51Dec 12, 2008 2:04 pm So I see you didn't have the sarking/sisalation to the walls either? Maybe it's one of those things you have to ask for extra. C&G -------------------------------- A new building chapter begins.. Maybe it's one of those things you have to ask for extra. thats Right, no sarking on roof or walls .. in fact I never gave it a thought... The bricks yes they were a free upgrade from Austral who were really nice to us. Clarendon insisted on using exposure grade bricks and our choice was really limited. The salt water by the way is far away and its the chipboard and the Rain that they should have been more worried about ! Great to see your pictures, must admit I do the occasional drive by to see if I can see how you are going! Interesting Clarendon made you use Exp grade.....we haven't had too. I remember having a similar conversation with them ages ago, but as we are more than 100m away from a non surf coast we are ok. *Going to check paperwork now* Don't think new builder has included this..... Cheers Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Building the "Clarendon Crestmead" 54Feb 02, 2009 12:11 pm Hello Bel, Bob and friends some more updates..
1. We may get the roof done tomorrow / day after. 2. Brickwork complete 3. Clarendon offered us left over bricks which we stacked up (nearly 1500) Considering all this cheers to clarendon who have been quite good of late. The Flooring looks ok I am told even after the long exposure to rain and sun (4 months) I will post more pictures later, the house looks good and coming into Shape. Already feel its a bit too large. Again Cheers to Clarendon and our SS Peter Murray who has been quite good. If you are building with Clarendon make sure you get a good SS !!!! Peter Murray was initially my SS. I never met him but he gave me regular weekly call and was very friendly and helpful. But just before frame, he got changed But I have to say, my current SS is not bad so far Good luck to the rest of your build! Update is Clarendon is still working on the Roof on and off .. it was going on well till last week and this week the Tradies have gone missing till today morning when i saw 2 vehicles parked on my driveway. I hope to get this done by close of day Friday and post pics on the weekend. Again the roof is going up for the first floor only and the ground floor part will be done next weekend. This will be a slow finish thats for sure !!!
