They only come in 1200 and 1350. Re: SO if you had your choice on ceiling height........... 4Jun 11, 2012 10:28 am Vess It really depends on the style you're looking for. Very curious as we are starting to look at builders and find that to increase to 2740 costs quite alot - unless we are being ripped off. Thanks. Re: SO if you had your choice on ceiling height........... 10Jun 11, 2012 5:51 pm So what s most expensive? I assume the 2700mm with cove cornice is more expensive? Personally I think 2700 is best particularly for ground floor. Lucky for us our builder has 2700mm as standard and we paid $4000 for shadowline cornice throughout( our builder won't do sq set as they say they are more prone to cracking,) in saying that sq set is normally at least 50% cheaper than shadowline and many project builders don't even offer it as an option. I would go 2700 with normal cornice over 2590 with sq set, 2590 looks like normal height to me. Ground floor should be standard 9ft. The reason why 2740 is with cornice is because they can leave a smal gap for skirting and the gap at the top for the cornice to cover. If you have 2740 as square or shadow set it's 2 x 1350 boards plus an extra piece of off cut to make up the distance. Hi Gogo65, Who are you building with, as I presume your builder includes 2700mm as standard ceiling height? Re: SO if you had your choice on ceiling height........... 14Jun 24, 2012 5:50 pm I personally don't like square set cornice - so I would go the 2740mm with cornice I wish we increased our ceiling height when we built - oh well... may need to build again!!! For an area of 94m2 it cost $4720. It was an additional $16 a lineal meter to square set it. This area includes both bedroom doors and an alfresco stacker. Did everybody go taller doors both internal and external where they had the higher ceilings ??
