Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our build with Red Ink Homes - Aveley :) 21Jul 18, 2012 2:26 pm Hi TLC22, I believe it is relatively easy to get cheap prices online, especially if you know what you want. There is a zillion of new online lighting retail stores that exploded this year in Australia. It used to be a pretty slow market the last few years but today, you can definitely find your pick. As well as bulk buying and/or trade pricing many of online stores offer pick up or free shipping. Re: Our build with Red Ink Homes - Aveley :) 23Aug 29, 2012 7:34 pm Hey TLC we are considering doing our overhead cupboards after handover as well as redink quoted us approx $900 per metre...have you got a quote elsewhere? Will redink place the cornice where you are putting your cupboards? We haven't signed with them yet but should do in a couple days! Also, those tile selections you have made are they included as standard or are they upgrades? So much to think about...hope everything is coming along smoothly redink seem to kick butt when it comes to customer service! Just hope it stays that way... Comeeeeeee on Red Ink! Hi TLC22, Cant wait to see your build start Once building contracts are approved its smooth sailing from then...... In regards to lighting try wattsaver for downlights and any other lights (pendants, chandeliers) try an online shop called www.lightinthebox.com I have had a few friends buy pendants and chandeliers from them and they are very happy with them, they also have unreal art and canvas prints Re: Our build with Red Ink Homes - Aveley :) 26Aug 29, 2012 11:39 pm I love light in the box! We just came home from pre-start! Sheesh... $$$$$ xxkatxx ... We were quoted $2,150 for our overhead cupboards! I did get a quote from another company to have it done after handover and it wasn't actually a whole lot cheaper. As for the tiles, yep all tiles except for the mosaic are included standard! We had to pay extra for the mosaic to be supplied and laid... We were pretty happy with the standard range as Red Ink upgraded it not long before we did our tile selections Thanks for the lighting recommendation girls! We have decided to have the standard bayonet moved into position for a downlight to replace it after handover so now we need to source all our downlights. We also are supplying the exhaust/light for the two w/c's so we can get the specky ones that are integrated. Stay tuned for pictures of what we chose today at pre-start Ps: Marybond your house is looking great!!! Re: Our build with Red Ink Homes - Aveley :) 28Sep 17, 2012 5:59 pm congrats on pre-start. we came home exhausted from the day, but exhausted in a good way. cant wait to see your choices. once redink get underway they really seem to keep the build moving. Re: Our build with Red Ink Homes - Aveley :) 30Sep 17, 2012 7:23 pm WOW, love your selections... cant wait for your build to start Did you do any structural changes? Re: Our build with Red Ink Homes - Aveley :) 31Sep 17, 2012 7:28 pm The only structural change that was made today was to make the master bedroom larger as they sneakily made it smaller and did not tell us! We have made several structural changes and fully changed the elevation from the original plan, I'll find an updated floor plan and post it for you to see Re: Our build with Red Ink Homes - Aveley :) 33Sep 17, 2012 7:48 pm Thanks we are certainly chuffed with our selections This is the most up to date floor plan I have... although there are a few changes we have made: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - Master bedroom has been made bigger - Small wall to the right of bedroom four entry has been removed - Broom cupboard and linen cupboard have been switched Theres probably a few more, Red Ink have had a habit of opening our old sketch files and working off them so we have had to change a few things over and over again! This is basically our elevation, minus that horizontal bit on the top of the blade wall Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our build with Red Ink Homes - Aveley :) 34Sep 17, 2012 8:03 pm I love the elevation, will you be tiling the front also.... I even love the landscaping heheh Re: Our build with Red Ink Homes - Aveley :) 35Sep 17, 2012 8:10 pm I wish we were tiling it! haha the pre-start girl didn't even want to quote us to do that today because it is super expensive apparently! Do you mind me asking which downlights you brought from Wattsaver? Have you received them yet? Re: Our build with Red Ink Homes - Aveley :) 36Sep 17, 2012 8:17 pm We bought the DL7 1400 for kitchen area and DL9 1400 for everywhere else... The 1400 are the only ones that you can get the Natural white colour. Everything we buy we get sent to my parents address as they live down the street from our build. I believe they have received them... Re: Our build with Red Ink Homes - Aveley :) 39Nov 07, 2012 10:25 pm Ooooh how exciting! Finally things are getting started!
