Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 462Jun 25, 2013 12:16 pm Tondar Tanya07 Im going to get Rawson to do conduit run with bullnose plate for my wall mount TVs. Does anyone know what a standard height is to install my TVs on the wall? Because im installing downlights after handover the extra light circuits & safety switch is a killer!! They say an extra light circuit can hold up to 14 light points. We put ours at 1400 for lounges and theatre rooms for 55" TVs. Bedrooms were put at 1600 for a little more lift and comfort to watch from bed. You may want to consider using a reverse bullnose in lieu as you will have no protrusion. These are great for flat mounted TVs. We had 5 extra power circuits used and 5 extra light circuits used. On top of his we put in a three phase surge protector on the fuse board too for added security. Thanks Tondor. Very helpful. Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 463Jun 28, 2013 8:50 am Received our colour pack in the mail on wednesday, lots of paperwork to look through... think i might make a trip to metford tomorrow to check out the bricks and call into tile direct just to have a sticky beak at what they have. Does anyone know when I should expect to hear from my CSO?? I thought I would of received a call by now. Hows the moving going Mrs Big Ted? Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 464Jun 28, 2013 9:59 am Pinny, FYI Tiles Direct are open until 3pm on saturdays You should have contact from your CSO after you have paid/accepted your Tender. We heard the day after for ours. Did you get a great big folder, or just a smallish black "leather" type one? Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 465Jun 28, 2013 10:49 am Thanks for that JTM - will do the bricks first and tiles on the way home. I got what to me seems like a big black leather zip up folder with a posh pen, and letter, and inside was all external pamphlets on the left and internal on the right? But being new to this... it might be the small to someone else lolo. Paid our tender on monday and Kate from waterford, rang and told me colour pack was on its way and CSO would ring me in the next few days... hmm im a bit confused Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 466Jun 28, 2013 10:52 am Quote: Received our colour pack in the mail on wednesday, lots of paperwork to look through... think i might make a trip to metford tomorrow to check out the bricks and call into tile direct just to have a sticky beak at what they have. If you have received the colour pack but no contact from your CSO, I would call them. Go and have a look at Austral at Beresfield. The brick places will give you the addresses of houses that have used the bricks you are interested in so you can do drivebys. The pen is rather lovely We try to sign all of our stuff with it just out of sentimentality Agree with Jen, the display and help at Austral at Beresfield was fantastic. We chose the Freedom bricks with off white mortar. Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 468Jun 28, 2013 11:12 am Still sorting through the mess, but am determined that by Monday there will not be a box in sight & everything will have a place. Am now looking forward to adding the personal touches, & getting some pictures on the walls!
My gripe for the day - Real Estate agent rang this morning and said that they had an open house advertised for the rental tomorrow morning & they're really sorry that admin forgot to let us know. Are you kidding! Made it very clear that I was not happy & they wouldn't be able to go out the back or the dog would eat them & I had no intention of cleaning until next week. Really wanted to tell them where to go, but need my bond back! Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 469Jun 28, 2013 12:19 pm The house looks great. Good WTO see that you gots on turf down. I think with the amount of puddles that we have it will be a long time before we have grass. Grrr to your RE agent. Our rental was advertised yesterday and $20 a week more than we are paying and our rent was only put up 2 months ago. I am hoping with the high price we won't have too many viewers as it is way too overpriced. Jessica is our CSO. Our plans are just being drawn up. Can recommend the drive by of houses to look at bricks/colours. Made our decision easy. We picked our outside colours in about two hours. Easy pleased I guess. Was funny when Jessica rang to introduce herself and get us underway with exterior colour selections and we already had them completed. Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 477Jun 30, 2013 9:56 am Where r u building at roadrunner? What are ur external colours?? I'm struggling big time, and DH is no help at all. So far I have:- Roof: barramundi Gutters: monument Fascia: surfmist Brick: gravel??? Windows: ?? Door: timber - not sure of stain Shed door: timberlook - not sure which colour yet Render: want 3 colours. I will shoot you through a PM shortly with what I have, just heading out for an hour or so. Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 479Jun 30, 2013 10:03 pm Pinny - if you are building a single storey - I would go for the lighter colour on the fascia as it doesn't lower the roof line, We are double storey and went with Barramundi tiles Woodland grey gutters and fascia, windows and down pipes Our garage door is caoba - and the matching stain for the front door is walnut Welcome roadrunner. Under NO circumstances should you allow any paint to be sprayed. I dont care how good the painter is but there is paint over spray on everything. All over our black tiles, all over our glass doors, all over bathroom vanities and all over the stacker door frames. Also save $4000 and do not go with the stacker doors. Rawson have no idea how they are to be installed. They have had 3 attempts at getting the screen track level enough for the screen doors to go on and there is still a gap of 30mm at the top where they dont meet. So bloody mad. The painters still have not finished and we have been in for 2 weeks. While our S/S was a great bloke and did his best they should not be called S/S's. They are just building co-ordinators. I was the S/S, here everyday picking up so many faults, and still so many things go in wrong. It is just that the trades dont care, they just want to get in and out asap. Sorry but I would not build with Rawson again. They only trades i was happy with were the ones I got for the pool, driveway, landscaping, turf ect. Rawson have a long long long way to go before they can call themselves TOP BUILDERS.
