Hopefully something comes from the pic but Hopefully they'll grow up & leave home soon! Plumbers, electricians, & carpenters all on site yesterday. We're really happy with the way our SS got everything fixed straight away. Plumbers even fixed a messy floor pipe relocation which would have interfered with our flooring later. I just happened to mention it to maintenance supervisor on Saturday. Carpenters finished front feature timber & most of the external lining. Gyprockers are now due Wednesday or Thursday. Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 350Apr 09, 2013 8:57 am Great news Mrs BigTed. We finally have gyprockers today. They have said that they should take about 4 days to do our house. So I am sure our gyprock will be finished at the same time as yours. Will need a new delivery! Building Stroud 30 in Lake Macquarie Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 352Apr 09, 2013 7:56 pm That is bad news mrs bigted. Ours was in the garage with part of it hanging out. Luckily DH stopped on his way home from work the day after it was delivered and covered the part that was sticking out with some sarking he found on site. Saved it getting ruined Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 353Apr 10, 2013 8:53 am Mr here. I am not sure how the Gyprock/Rawson deal works. It would appear that Boral do the entire job as S/S said that "Boaral say when the Gyprockers will be turning up". Huge storm last night soaked all the cornices, so they were destroyed, but the wind blew rain in all over half of the Gyprock stack. In my experience they "SHOULD NOT" be pinning up wet Gyprock. I have sent S/S multiple text messages so its Rawsons call if they replace it or not. Hell will have no furry like me and Mrs BT if or when this wet Gyprock starts to buckle and pop later down the track when it dry's. Just really pisssssed with the entire build now. So slow. Each trade does not appear to care about the one following. I could write a novel about how much work I have done on site and advice I have given trades just to make keep the ball rolling and make everyone job a bit easier. Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 354Apr 10, 2013 9:38 am So sorry to hear your frustrations BigTed, nothing seems to be going in your favour. Disappointing that they don't cover things after delivery to protect them from the elements. A waste of time & money for everyone concerned. Are they putting up wet plasterboard???? My SS was the one that called the gyprockers to find out when they were turning up. I know the material is Boral, but not sure if they gyprockers are Boral as well. One of the daycare dads works for Boral interior linings and wears a shirt with the logo on it. My gyprockers dont have anything like that one it. Try to stay positive. We started 31/10/12 and we are up to the same stage as you. Your SS is in his weekly meeting in Sydney this morning as they are every Wednesday. Try to call him after lunch and find out what is happening with the plasterboard as i told my SS that the bottom boards got wet from last weeks storm and I was told that any boards that got wet are thrown away and not used. The cornices got dumped as they held the water. But as we are having square set throughout there was only a small amount of cornice for the garage. There are only two guys setting the Gyprock but they get stuck into it. By lunch they had done a fair bit. That is good to hear BigTed We only had two guys yesterday, but today we have three, so hoping they get quite a bit done today. Hi there Bigted. Sorry to hear things are not running smoothly for you. You mentioned square set throughout. Did your plasterers use cove cornice for your garage? We have square set throughout too, but they also did the garage in square set. I would have assumed cove for the garage would have been easier and quicker. That is what we were expecting anyway. Re: Rawson Homes - the adventure begins 359Apr 11, 2013 6:42 am They haven't started the garage yet but when the cornice was delivered we assumed that was what it was for? Busy night last night. Caught the bastards inside our fence - 2 carloads of late teens. They had already loaded some colourbond fence panels into the back of a twin cab ute (dismantled from the block 2 houses up). Fortunately BigTed was inside our house checking out the gyprock. Scared the ### out of them & called the police. They got away but police came really quickly & took number plates to track them down. Really hope this is the end of it. I have run out of house energy. Also got the rental inspection letter yesterday. Had hoped we wouldn't have to have another one before we moved out.
