I know most farms/ stations are named and certainly historical homes often come with names but is it common these days. We are building in a heritage area and a few houses in our area have Names ( new and heritage alike). After doing a bit of historical research we have hit on the old street name of our street (it changed in the 1940's to the current name). So I was just wondering what peoples opinions are about naming houses, is a bit pretentious or a matter of placing a bit of your personality on your home.
