When building a new house what type of termite protection do people use?
I've heard of Termimesh and currently of Cavtect.
What works and what doesn't and what's worth spending money on?
Thanks

If I was you I would be double checking. It is possible to protect the home with good detailing and physical protection only, without the need for chemical barriers that need to be maintained and are a poison in the environment and a danger to kids and pets, but you won't know how if you do't get expert advice Hi Building-expert, That was my thoughts as well, they have said it is to standard, Kordon to the perimeter is a a P.C of $1000 I guess my thoughts were to spent the extra money on the blue timber to stop them eating it if they did get in. I am aware that this won't stop them getting in or nesting if they find moisture. I would have pest inspections carried out all so. We are also on highly reactive clay, the type that cracks in summer so I guess I have put us at a lower risk. In saying that we are on 10 acres with plenty of trees. As the budget disapears it is hard to prioritise at the moment! I am still not sure about having the blue wood or "poisonous wood" in our home but I guess it is not exposed and encapsulated in plaster and paint. Thanks again.
