Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 07, 2012 10:16 am Hi new to the site. about to start building our first house with Fairmont Homes. I was just wondering if anyone is currently building with them and how they are finding it and how long they are taking to do things? We had dirt dumped 3 weeks ago for our footings as we have to have it built up, and nothing has been done since Re: Building with Fairmont Homes 2Jun 07, 2012 10:28 am Hi - we didn't build with Fairmont but there are lots of happy customers on this website - just do a search ..... and good luck! Re: Building with Fairmont Homes 8Aug 13, 2012 2:26 pm we are currently building with Fairmont up to second coat of paint going on the inside has been good apart from one guy in their office who is a complete idiot and its funny when you speak to the trades and some other actual employees they laugh and make a few comments they obviously see it too our timber guy was great our brickies were great tiler did a good job should be ready to do our walk thru in around two to four weeks i reckon we built the ashbourne but got rid of the computer nook behind the kitchen we moved the kitchen back which made the dining room bigger and then put in a triple sliding door to a 50 odd sqm alfresco under main roof we also extended the garage out to be level with the portico its gone relatively quick as its quiet in the industry (so im told) i reckon we signed on the dotted line last august or sept?? Re: Building with Fairmont Homes 10Aug 13, 2012 2:37 pm ahhhh the excitement begins it was great to see our timber structure come out of the ground we were lucky enough to be building on the same block we actually currently live on now so were constantly looking out our lounge window watching progress. Re: Building with Fairmont Homes 11Aug 13, 2012 8:52 pm Hi, we are also building with Fairmont. It's a long story but it's taken 8 months to get our slab poured. We just received our first progress invoice with an estimate hand over time of 20 March 2013. Hope to see some timber soon. Good luck all.
