Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Baldivis build with Dale Alcock Homes - We have keys!!! 461May 03, 2013 1:54 pm We got the large felt pads for sofas etc and smaller ones for table and chairs, the furniture slides on them easily, got them in bunnings. Friend has one of those lifters advertised on tv with the pads so you can easily move things around, great for rearranging things, I used the lifter for vacuuming under sofas and its really easy to use, red dot had them for $15. Re: Baldivis build with Dale Alcock Homes - We have keys!!! 462May 03, 2013 4:14 pm I am glad that they have approached and fixed the problem! The tops also haven't been cemented on yet but they will definitely come in handy to put a drink or two on whilst having a dip in the pool. Next step to remove all the packing and coat it will sealant to give it the wet look. Then the limestone goes down hopefully this week ( subject to weather ) Very chuffed with the result!! Austral Brick?? i do hope so as this is the one we want but cant see it on the internet only at homebase... btw i do love your house... cant wait to see the pool come together with the limstone Hey, yes it is "slate" but from remastone in Bibra Lake. I'll give you half marks Pretty sure they have distributors all over perth - we went to a place in rockingham but had to order it and wait a few days so just drove up to the main office to get it then and there. Have noticed the slate colour by other companies is almost identical so maybe compare prices?? Took us a while to choose the colour - we liked the white but wanted a contrast with the limestone so was either slate or rustic. Glad we chose this one as there isn't as many colours in it so it was alot more forgiving and you don't have to play with the stacks too much to match colours etc. Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. I wish we were at your stage of the process! Its good to see they have done a great job on your house, there is hope for us! There certainly is hope. All I can say is that we are very happy with the end result. As first time builders there was alot of times that were very stressful as we had no idea what to expect and how the process works. This has probably made alot of the DAH staff curse us plenty of times but they have been very professional the whole way through even when we thought they'd tell us to bugger off lol. Good luck with your build, I will definitely follow your story if you make one and if you ever want some advice or anything don't hesitate to shout out. Did DA do your internal painting? They will be doing ours. Were u happy with it? Yep they did our painting and we are pretty happy with it. We were in two minds about it, because we knew they use flat/matt paint which we REALLY love the look of, but its not very user friendly with children because its almost impossible to clean without it being really obvious in certain light conditions. They actually use flat paint apparently to hide surface imperfections (I.e crap plastering) but I think we are very lucky as we've had a number of comments from external tradies about how good our plastering is. I knew it was a good thing to have just one person doing the job instead of a few So yeah we are definitely happy with it - it's alot better than what we could have done anyways!!!
