You've got a great sense of style I noticed that you had some probs with ABC blinds, and I was wondering if you could PM me and let me know what happened.....as we're meanbt to be getting our blinds done with them too (after handover)? Also, what's the colour of your kitchen cabinetry, is it charred oak? Also, what's the colour of your kitchen cabinetry, is it charred oak? Simone xoxox Kitchen cabinets are Formica habitat velour finish Basically when we scheduled installation with ABC the lady on the phone said she was giving us 'X' to do the installation as he was the best. She made a comment that 'you don't want Y ....' So the day comes and we get a call from 'Z'. This guy was a complete fool, rocked up at 2pm. While myself and OH are there with our two year old he is 'attempting' to install blinds in our master bedroom, and the whole time we are hearing him huff 'fu@$!!!' Etc etc.. We then realise he has only installed the block out roller in master bedroom and not the sun shade as well and when we question him he speaks to us like we are idiots and don't know what we're talking about. ( yeah what would we know we only ordered them). So anyway every time he drilled a hole in the window he missed the lintel, so there was plaster etc dropping down all over the place. His hands were FILTHY and he left dirty hand prints all over our walls even after OH told him to wash his hands. In 4 hours he only managed 9 blinds. OH kicked him out of the house at 6pm after he got up on his knees up on our ensuite vanity and banged his drill on our vanity top to get a broken drillbit out!!!! He then tried to get OH to sign the handover forms to say everything had been installed properly etc etc... You can imagine how that went down. So the next day we call ABC and speak to the customer service manager. She tells us they are too busy and we can't have anyone out for 2 weeks. OH tells her we have rollers installed without the safety devices and we are moving in in 3 days time. All of a sudden she's got a guy coming out the same day. Then when we complain about the moron she sent out she tells us he's only been employed by them for 3 days!!!! Then proceeds to tell OH he is an experienced installer. So mr X rocks up and he is incredible, except he can only stay for an hour. So he gets all the rest of the blinds up but can't fit the safey devices as not enough time. So OH rings lady back again and tells her blinds are up but no safety devices. She organizes mr X to come back following day and finish off. While MR X is there he takes off nearly every single blind that the idiot had installed as even the brackets were installed completely wrong. ALL 3 sliding doors with rollers would not even open because the roller had blocked it from opening!!! Mr X is worth his weight in gold and he's been with ABC for 9 years and he says the muppets they employ is a joke and he's always fixing other people's work. The WORST part of it all is that the day the idiot came to install our blinds Mr X had half the day with no work and said he would have loved our job. Absolute joke and the customer service manager offered nothing. No discount for the damage done to our walls etc, we had to paint where his filthy hand marks were and where he took plaster chunks out of every single window sill with his drill. She didnt even offer an apology. Nothing. So in all honest we don't mind airing this dirty laundry because everything is documented and we have photos of the damage done etc so its more than opinion it's factual, and they are morons and would never get another dime out of us. We still owe them a reasonable amount of money and nobody in the past 2 weeks has chased us up for it. Just as well, because if they want it they're going to have to come get it. In a court room. Can't say I'm super happy with them. They are only verticals but some touch ground, some don't, some don't cover space completely, others have extra blind panel etc. Momomo try AAA blinds for a quote. The quote we got was great and my mum has used them few times. But I don't have personal experience with them yet Re: Baldivis build with Dale Alcock Homes - We have keys!!! 486May 21, 2013 10:08 pm Hi Miss Em just wanted to say how gorgeous your home is. It will look so nice by the pool. Bet you can't wait for summer http://arborwest.com.au They come and plant them too. Re: Baldivis build with Dale Alcock Homes - We have keys!!! 493May 27, 2013 8:12 pm Looks amazing!! It has come together so well I love the pattern on your liquid limestone. Are you looking for a large frangipani or happy to start small? Frangapanis can be grown from a cutting so if you know someone with one you can take some of that, I don't know the exact process but I know my mom has done it many times before. Yep my MIL takes cuttings and grows them, but they aren't quite big enough yet for the size we want. We don't want massive but don't want small either. Maybe around the 1 metre mark will be right. Plus we are looking for a specific shape, has to have a couple of 'forks' so to speak. I'm sure we'll find something. Our neighbour recommended John Coles nursery so might give them a look. Might try and convince her to give it as a house warming! Re: Baldivis build with Dale Alcock Homes - We have keys!!! 497May 27, 2013 9:42 pm Re: ABC blinds are an absolute joke! Miss Em that's shocking but I'd believe it without a doubt.. I had ABC out here about 18months ago to quote me on my whole house done in cedar timber blinds. They were really good at first friendly they sucked me in, so they originally quoted me $5,500 (3x1 covering all windows) and I just said no im sorry my budget is half that so the sales rep did this whole spiel if I sign up TODAY they will discount the blinds by half and have them installed within two weeks.. That was early June and I didn't get my blinds until 1 week before Christmas!! ONLY because I hounded them daily hence been waiting 6 months already and was getting annoyed with the newspaper on my windows as I expected them within a two week time frame.. Ive had more than half of the blinds taken for repairs more than once they stopped retracting but now there telling me im out of my 12month warranty..? The installer drilled holes in my metal door frames for the safety hook?? absolute stupidity.. Sorry that's my rant about ABC I would never use them again Building the "Avoca" by Dale Alcock Re: Baldivis build with Dale Alcock Homes - We have keys!!! 498May 27, 2013 9:53 pm Busy busy busy check this episode on the checkout. It's all about your rights as a consumer. Just because the warranty is over doesn't mean they are off the hook. http://www.abc.net.au/tv/thecheckout/episodes/ep03.htm Or there is information here about your rights. http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees You may find you might want to drop in that you will speak to consumer protection. I would think based on what is happened you might actually be able to get your money back rather then then just replacing them.
