We only found out because the original location for the soakwells on their plans was not suitable. The contractor contacted the head office to get in touch with us and tell us that they have to install them at a lower point on our property.... BTW we have 3 soakwells 2 x 1500x1500 and 1 x 1500x1200 interconnected. They have trafficable lids. http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac281/ddmayred/27072010147.jpg http://i908.photobucket.com/albums/ac281/ddmayred/P1020841.jpg Preliminary agreement 23/11 Contract 22/03 Prestart 06/04 - finalised on 30/04 Unconditional approval 10/05 Demolition 05/07 Slab 26/08 Brickwork 13/09-06/10 Roof frame started 07/10 viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32292 1st build in Baldivis with DAH - Still waiting.. 71Jul 19, 2012 4:45 pm I hope they have taken into consideration the fact we want to put in a pool..might have to ask at pre-start? We just got small ones for each of our downpipes! They could fit in the car! I don't think those big boys will fit in my little hatch! Re: 1st build in Baldivis with DAH - Got the plans!!! 73Jul 19, 2012 4:57 pm Make sure you request a copy of your plumbing plan as well so you know approx where your soakwells are. We asked our Site Super, he promised and never delivered. We asked the 6 month maintenance guys and they dleivered within a day. Re: 1st build in Baldivis with DAH - Got the plans!!! 74Jul 19, 2012 5:01 pm On our site plan we have the areas for the pool and shed marked out as "keep services clear". You should be able to add areas like these at prestart. MissEm, On our initial plans (the ones we signed off on when we paid the deposit) there was a line on the page which deals with variations which states whether there is an intention to add a pool and whether consideration of that is required. Maybe have a look on your variation page if you have one Building the Nautilus with Dale Alcock follow my thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58854&p=909574#p909574 14/8/12 Pre-start! 1st build in Baldivis with DAH - Got the plans!!! 76Jul 19, 2012 5:47 pm emmanewman MissEm I hope they have taken into consideration the fact we want to put in a pool..might have to ask at pre-start? Thanks, Renee. Hi Renee, Could you please follow up on if junction boxes are still able to be installed instead of lighting? Our Sales Consultant told us we could at our original meeting, and in the Pre-start booklet it says we can, but the lady we met with at Pre-selections said we couldn't. Thanks Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. Your plans and colour selections look great and I love your window "splashback" and clear island bench in the kitchen! We are first time builders who have just signed our contracts two weeks ago with Dale Alcock to build the Aurora. We signed our PPA 31/3 and received our contracts 27th June (they were ready a few days earlier but we were away), if that gives you any indication of timeframe. We were told 8 weeks also initially. A heads up, which you might know already, check your elevations closely especially windows. Drafting decided to change our living room windows to awning windows from the sliding windows which were on our original plan and the display (and what we wanted) for no apparent reason. Even the sales consultant didnt know why. It will now be changed at no charge. It was a pretty easy thing to fix in the end but may have been tricky if we had gone to council! We also made some other changes to a couple of doors at the same time without fuss. We also found that changes the sales consultant said would be no cost ended up being charged for when our final contracts came through. having said that there were somethings he quoted that ended up being less eg rendering whole house, so not getting too worked up about it yet. And yes we are told a lot of things can be done at prestart. It is scaring us because we are already over budget and we have already signed our contract, but also happy because it has given us time to really think about any internal changes to be made. It is making finance approval a bit of a hassle too. It might be an idea to give a list of things you were thinking of upgrading/changing (and credits for things you want to do after handover) to to the pre start consultant to get an idea of prices beforehand. I have but from the tone of the email, we might/might not get it in time for pre start. Its early days yet and am hopeful we will get it, but there has been no promises. Still waiting for prestart to be scheduled. Have you had your meeting with intelligent homes yet? Another suggestion, if you do add on any extra items to what is included in your spec, get them to itemise it. They didnt for us, and the price quoted seems high. We have requested it but having been waiting over a week now. I do think sometimes we are paying too much for this house but if the build quality matches then Ill feel better about it Overall love our plans, and happy with the staff we have dealt with so far. The interior design consult was helpful as she gave us a lot of help with cheaper alternatives to the tiles we wanted for our ensuite that still looked beautiful. Our sales rep is friendly, but could be hard to get hold of sometimes, but most times got back to us with our answers. He was most helpful before we signed up ( I guess as sales reps are) as he took us through dale alcock central and gave us an idea of the upgrades, which were worth the money and which were a bit of a waste of time. Also the rep at the display home was very helpful in design ideas and what things would be better done after handover. The pre construction coordinator was lovely also. I'm so sorry for hijacking your forum, I thought I would give you an idea of what is up ahead hopefully soon! 1st build in Baldivis with DAH - Got the plans!!! 79Jul 20, 2012 4:33 pm 2JS thank you for your reply, especially the part about the windows in the elevations. There was something we noticed, but we kind of overlooked it, but now that you mention it... In this image there is a window and under it there is a line with 9c. It's a bedroom window. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Then in this image, the other two bedroom windows - one has the line with 7c under it (4th window from the left) and the other doesn't have anything (last one). Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ They should all be the same windows and the same height etc, so why does one say 9c, one says 7c and the other has nothing? We thought maybe because we had changed the heights of the bedroom windows (so we could put a bed alongside them if need be without actually being in front of the window itself, IYKWIM)? Does it even mean anything? Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes.
