Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Even SS couldn't give us an answer which is really annoying as we will be concreting there and don't want some random conduit poking out of the ground. Re: Baldivis build with Dale Alcock Homes - We have keys!!! 446Apr 25, 2013 10:26 pm Don't think they provisioned for that as we had the driveway paving removed??? I.e no conduit under driveway... We are wondering if its a provision for the NBN.. As the little white box near that is apparently for NBN.. How that works we have no idea??? We just assumed the NBN cables would be run in from where the ewire comes in.. Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. We don't have any landscape package as we didn't buy the land through the developer. Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. Where the pull through has gone though?? Looks like phone line is in place so maybe it is an allowance for a fibre run to be done in the future. I'd guess the white plate on the wall is where the fibre will enter the house - your actual hub would normally be in the garage. Re: Baldivis build with Dale Alcock Homes - We have keys!!! 450Apr 26, 2013 5:17 pm Yep we have a hub inside the garage... Went today and dug around the telecommunications pits down on the verge - Telstra and ewire. Both pits are next to each other. There is one conduit entering both pits, and one which has been hacksawed off just before it reaches the pit. So we put a house down the conduit up near the house and ran the water down it, but unfortunately nothing comes out down at the cut end. So either a) it's a different conduit or b) it's been cut somewhere else along the line. We spoke to intelligent home and they said they don't do any work outside the home - all their stuff is internal. And he suggested that maybe the builder provisioned for Telstra and then when Telstra came along to connect us up they ran their own conduit instead of using the one already there. CLO was not helpful at all - she says its for NBN and we need to contact the estate to have the NBN connected .... Which is a bit hard considering NBN is not available in our area yet. And according to intelligent home we may never get NBN because we already have fibre to the home (e-wire). The jury is still out unfortunately............ And we are mighty peeved that the builder can't tell us who put it there. Ridiculous. We know that Telstra is connected as is ewire so we are thinking of just digging down and cutting it off... Thoughts anyone?? Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. I just finished doing that, and its been there since before the bricks started! LOL. I think it was a provision for Telstra but Telstra decided to do their own instead? Well, its obviously not important! Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. They did! BUT, the person who did the refresh got it all over the walls! We didn't pick it up until Sunday afternoon. Although, if you really look for the scratches, you can still see them, but who actually looks for scratches when you have a gorgeous floor standing out at you? So when we discovered the refresh all over the walls, we were quite upset that it seemed to have made everything much worse than it originally was. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ There was also splash marks on the actual floor through the house, which just looked really bad in light reflections. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We emailed our CLO and asked to meet with the construction manager on site. On the Monday morning DF was at the house and our SS came past and had a look. Monday afternoon the flooring company called to book in to meet with them on site to discuss the scratches and a possible resolution. Wednesday morning we met with the construction manager who got the painters in to fix up the walls, and confirmed that the best thing to do would be to meet with the flooring company to discuss the floors. So this morning we met with the flooring people, along with our SS. Our biggest issue was the splattering on the walls and floor, the scratches didn't really concern us in the grand scheme of things, the refresh coated them so they didn't catch in the light, so they don't really shout out at you as they did before. Plan of action is another coat of refresh, done by the owner of the flooring place to ensure that it is done correctly this time. He showed us how it should be done, and explained to us how the splattering happened (rush job). He assured us and our SS that it will not happen again (seeing as the walls have been re-painted!). So that should fix the finish of the flooring. We are really happy with the way Dale Alcock have worked with us to resolve this. We absolutely love our floors and without a doubt they will look absolutely stunning (even more so) after the refresh is re-done on Tuesday. So thats that out of the way. We had a small wall built around our pool pump to conceal it a bit. DF is going to do stone cladding on it tomorrow to make it a bit nicer looking. Will be using left over bullnose pavers from the pool to finish the top after cladding is done. Will double as a little bar to put drinks etc on and finish the wall off nicely Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our carpets have been laid. LOVE them. Who built the little wall? Glad the floors are being sorted... they look simply stunning! Re: Baldivis build with Dale Alcock Homes - We have keys!!! 457May 03, 2013 12:40 pm The electrician is Graeme from StarMac electrical. We didnt even get another quote as his was very reasonable and he comes very highly recommended. We are so glad we used him - his work is amazing and his attention to detail is second to none. The wall was done by a brickie around the corner from us. He works for one of the bigger building companies and will also be doing our front planter/letterbox. Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. We had a scratch from moving the fridge/freezer in, could not be helped as it was so heavy, i used one of those scratch pens for furniture and it covered it so well i cant find it anymore! Carpet looks great too. Re: Baldivis build with Dale Alcock Homes - We have keys!!! 459May 03, 2013 12:48 pm Oh that's right. We will need his details if he is willing to have them shared Do you mind Pming me the cost? Just trying to get a rough idea since our builders are so damn slow it will be eating into our savings Re: Baldivis build with Dale Alcock Homes - We have keys!!! 460May 03, 2013 12:49 pm Hi smartypants the guy from the flooring company has offered to give us some sheets of plywood to roll the fridge into place in the recess. The DA construction manager also suggested we do the same a few days ago, apparently that's what they do in the display homes. Apparently there is a wax pen or something that you can draw on scratches and it will disappear?? Once our floor is coated again we no longer have tradies etc coming in as everything will be done so hopefully no more scratches anyway. We never wear shoes etc inside. P.s what do you put under your furniture?? Rubber, felt??? Where can we get some??? Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes.
