Once upon a time you got a house where everything in it was of decent quality and good enough to live in and everything was finished, you just moved in. How things have changed. The second storey, above the windows and above the garage door was always brick and now a lot of companies are using wooden planks and obscure glass was installed in all baths and loos as standard just to name a couple of things. When you go to a display home now you need to add $100-150k to the advertised price to get the house you’re walking through. Maybe the government needs to enforce truth in advertising legislation so the companies have to display the price you need to pay to get what you’re looking at. Plucka you need to stand your ground!! I really should stop reading these kinds of threads, talking about lintels, they installed wooden panels over ours in lieu of bricks, when the other houses build by the same builder around us have bricks over the windows. Had to fight tooth and nail to get them to change it. Plasterboard Gyprock is very popular as a reveal liner these days. You need to provide a way of supporting it, we use a modified timber reveal or bracket. You will be… 1 3010 If you already have a contract, is the inspection cost stated in there? If not they would be forced to issue you a variation which you could of course object to. 12 25848 |
