I wonder what software the Zen boys use, if any. Maybe they'll give me a job lol Re: Vess's Build 144Jun 26, 2012 8:59 pm gogo65 The software is in their head yup. DH asked this at the beginning too. I think they are seriously going to need to get a better ordering and project plan system going... (I think Andrew said they were looking into getting a program, but like their new website and display home these things might never happen ) SunshineT's Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34585 Designs start: 4/12/09 DA: 5/7/11 Demo: 22/12/11 Slab: 24/2/12 Keys: 31/8/12 Re: Vess's Build 147Jul 05, 2012 9:57 pm This is my third attempt at updating and uploading pictures so if it doesn't work - I give up! It's been a month of activity since my last update. As I was going throughmy pics I realised I don't have a recent one with all the roof on so I'll have to do that tomorrow before the garage doors get installed on Tuesday. Lower roof - check, insulation throughout - check, Gyprock - check, screeding - check, tiling started today. Here's some pics. http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/photo-2.jpg http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/photo-3.jpg http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/photo-4.jpg http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/photo-5.jpg http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/photo-6.jpg http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/photo-7.jpg http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/071218downloadofpics815.jpg http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/071218downloadofpics818.jpg http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/071218downloadofpics825.jpg http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/071218downloadofpics819.jpg Bought these step lights by Domus http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/photo-1.jpg Bought 2 lounges. The living room couch has a chaise that can be moved and switch the cushion top and this is also the feature fabric on the top of the ottoman. http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/071218downloadofpics827.jpg Scatter cushion on 3 seater and single seats in family room http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w386/VessBee/071218downloadofpics828.jpg We got our 120 downlights of this beast - d900 brightgreen LED downlight fully dimmable http://brightgreen.com/products/d900-curve/ Floor tiling downstairs will be finished tomorrow then next week they start on the bathrooms (x3). Monday is stairs and Tuesday is garage doors. Painting (undercoat) starts on Saturday after a delay with the plasterers not sanding last Saturday as scheduled. I will be painting daughters room Monday a purple colour and youngest sons room a blue colour. On Tuesday I will be painting the WIR's and linen cupboards plus pantry so cabinetry guy can install those as soon as they are ready (probably the following week). He assures me he has started amking them already. Kitchen carcass will go in that week starting 16th July. That's all I've got. Have had discussions with concretor re: driveway and steps and bits. Aiming for 21st July to mark out and form up for pouring. Vess's Build 152Jul 06, 2012 12:34 am Vess Yes Nina, I work full time as well as three kids plus the house build. Slowly going grey and extra wrinkles. I've just chosen my contractors carefully and by recommendation only. I try not to sweat the little stuff and just be super organised. Whaaaaaat? You, are a SUPERWOMAN! Where are you building? Re: Vess's Build 154Jul 06, 2012 6:58 am Thanks MissyP DH doesn't realise how hard it's actually been to juggle because I've been so efficient lol. All he has had to do is the odd site clean up (all day) and I've done the rest including the finances which he was supposed to do but whatever. Was easier for me to just do it as I went along. It's been hard some days but mostly enjoyable. Not going to rush in and do it again though lol Build is in Kellyville/Castle Hill area. Looking forward to the end product now. Not far to go. Re: Vess's Build 155Jul 06, 2012 9:51 am Not far at all Vess. It's all looking amazing. If you leave it a month before you post again, you will probably already be in at this rate!! I find it so interesting to see the different order of things in other places. I'm in country vic, and round here the garage door is pretty much the last thing to be done. My neighbours was only installed the day before they moved in, and was the same with friends of mine. I asked my builder why and he said they worry about damaging occurring if they do them earlier. Maybe our tradies round here are a bit more careless?? Re: Vess's Build 156Jul 06, 2012 9:54 am On the other side of the coin, the only reason we do it this early in Sydney is for security and theft prevention of materials in site. Country VIC is probably less susceptible to this kind of bad behaviour so they don't need to put them on - maybe ??? Re: Vess's Build 157Jul 06, 2012 10:18 am awesome progress Vess! Ha! Makes me think it's perhaps not such a bad thing to have the odd little public 'break-down' ! Anyway, you totally deserve a medal. regardless, your contract stipulates a payments schedule and SOPA doesn't give provision to that scenario. Your contractual terms appear to stand.
