Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 21, 2012 9:44 pm Has anyone done smart wiring through Intelligent Homes? I know they are offering their basic package for just under $2000, however there are more extras they're doing such as home automation and other cabling. Can anyone give an idea on prices and what's on offer? Thanks Re: Intelligent Homes (Perth) 2May 21, 2012 10:15 pm They arn't the only people in perth that you can deal with for the smart wiring of you house. Intelligent homes have a good reputation but there are others in Perth who do as well, and prices will greatly vary. Check out the below, they have a list of telstra and foxtel accredited installers as well as others available. http://www.smartwiredhouse.com.au Building again . . with Redink Pre-start 04/12 Keys - 03/13 Finishing off. . . We have an appointment on 7th July to go and sit down with a consultant to talk about what we want and get a quote.... Hi, we got some quotes. Their initial NBN Smart Wire package cost $1997 and includes the following: 2 * TV & Data Points 1 * Data/Telephone Point NBN Conduit, Fibre Bridge, Cat6 patch panel, Smart Wire enclosure Coax to roof space (without actual antenna installation, if you want one it's $399) and C2000 standard white plates (which can be changed to different colour if you want) Around $280 per one wall mount TV conduits. That's 3 plastic tubes running from the bottom part of the wall to the middle of the wall where you will hang your TV with outlets at each end. We added another 3 TV & Data points + another Data Point on it own + we had to have antenna amplifier because we chose more than 4 TV points. That all came to another $2000. If you want audio wiring (speakers not included but they're about $700 for a pair and you will need both as it's a stereo speakers) that will be around $385 per point. That gives me a good idea of what's on offer and rough prices! I didn't know if we would come out spending $1000 or $10,000 lol (not that we can affford the latter!!!) Re: Intelligent Homes (Perth) 7Jun 15, 2012 5:40 pm Aubin Grove Fan, We used them to put smart Wiring into our place. Like you it was a special being offered by the builder, we probably would not have bothered if it hadn't been a builders promo and our son who is an electrician said to get it done. We had just the basics done, phone lines, TV/foxtel, internet. Basically we can move any of the equipment round to various rooms and you just change the data point in the main distribution board. Found them very good company to deal with. We had a problem last week with phone and had them come out and sort it out. It wasn't a fault with their work, the airconditioning installers had done something to a wire in the roof. Hope this helps. So that being the case that you can have tech and use it I guess puts less ownus on the cost. Re: Intelligent Homes (Perth) 10Nov 21, 2014 1:42 pm Our builder uses Intelligent Homes and we went for a meeting with them about 2 weeks ago. Jamie, who attended to us is excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the tech stuff to us that we didn't understand. In the end we got the starter package from them. an extra data point, one extra tv point, rooftop antenna plus install, the basic Hills alarm system and pre-wiring done for ceiling speakers to the rear of the Theater. We wanted some extras but it blew out our budget so we decided to do without those.
