Yeah heaps.... Check our blog. Will hopefully update soon. Cheers, Mike. My Blog... http://ahouseonthehill.blogspot.com/ Re: any experience with CARLISLE HOMES? 3Mar 12, 2008 4:37 pm This thread has opened a can of worms for us!
We thought we were decided on M's Laguna with added rumpus/alfresco...but after looking at Carlisle's websits I love the look of the Bordeaux 40, it is basically the same as M's plan but much cheaper as we won't need to add the rumpus/alfresco... I wonder if they build in Newport....I'll send an email... Also can someone tell me if the Bordeaux 40 says house width of 13.50, is this the minimum block width? We only really have a block size of 13.50 to work with, so if it needs to be bigger we probably couldn't build with Carlisle anyway.... Thanks Re: any experience with CARLISLE HOMES? 5Mar 12, 2008 4:55 pm Oh well!!
It's probably done us some good - narrowed our choice right down...not many builders will build a double story home with a block width of under 13.5m so we are probably best to stick with M... Thanks Andrew - your becoming quite the post master Re: any experience with CARLISLE HOMES? 6Mar 12, 2008 5:14 pm Maybe it might be an idea to call Carlisle and chat with them re your requirements??? I know that H3nley have the same design to suit different block frontages.
It can't hurt to ask? Maybe?? Good Luck! Re: any experience with CARLISLE HOMES? 7Mar 12, 2008 5:16 pm Thanks P.
I emailed them to ask, I am actually quite keen on Henly, however, most of their designs are too wide...now that you say they have different designs to suit block widths I might have another peek I'll have to ask if they will build in Newport/Spotswood too... Cheers Porter Davis Cremorne 34 8Mar 12, 2008 5:25 pm Hey,
I found you a house for your lot. Its the cremorne 34 by Porter Davis.. min lot width is 13.25. have a look and tell me wat u think! www.porterdavis.com.au Re: any experience with CARLISLE HOMES? 9Mar 12, 2008 5:28 pm Thanks Andrew - i actually love this home but PD will not build in our area - we already enquired
I found one from Henly - Atlantis I'm just wondering if anyone can do me a favour and look on the Henley website and check their zoning to see if this is a charge etc to build in Newport. I can't get the map on my screen big enough to see Thanks ? 10Mar 12, 2008 5:37 pm where abouts is newport? never heard of it!
the atlantis is quite nice! i like it! have u signed the contract yet? in the meantime, ill keep looking for you. oh i just found it! 11Mar 12, 2008 5:40 pm it says the price is on application.. so there is a charge.....means u probably have to call them!
good luck, Re: any experience with CARLISLE HOMES? 12Mar 12, 2008 6:41 pm Thanks Andrew! Newport is out west - near Williamstown, Spotswood, Altona etc...
Figures that it is POA Considering the house is alot cheaper than what we want to build with M (base price only) maybe it might be worth paying the extra for travel.. I'll enquire with H3nl3y, thanks again Re: any experience with CARLISLE HOMES? 13Mar 12, 2008 8:11 pm andrew,
Here is a complete account of my build with Carlisle Homes. http://www.ourgrandeplan.blogspot.com Read it from start to finish and choose wisely. Hope it helps you on the road to a clearer decision. Belinda, We also checked out that house before... and Matt's Grande. We liked the Grande better because of the location of the stairs. Bordeaux, from my memory, has the stairs facing the front door. Sadly, they don't build out where our land is.
That was something that hadn't even occurred to me when we decided to buy the land. So far two builders have said no and one needs to let us know. Thankfully PD, our preferred builder so far, says yes. hey matt 19Mar 15, 2008 4:44 pm ive been reading ur blog from start to finish!! ive been reading it for ages.. nice work on the house. it looks great! Re: any experience with CARLISLE HOMES? 20Mar 16, 2008 2:21 pm Paula that takes the decision out of it Indecisive Me That it does! As of today, after interesting discussions, I think we're one step closer to a real decision! ~ Sarah ~ First build was a nightmare, why are we considering a second build?! Plans on hold for a few years, doesn't mean I can't look. A lot! Carlisle use to sneak a water resistant "Performance Solution" into their contracts. Have you checked your contract for same? 4 10393 Hi All, I have been dealing with icare for insurance in completing our house after our original builder went bust.
