Busy looking at new kitchen colours Cant have burnished wood diamond gloss on cupboards so running around to laminex to see what else I can choose CluelessOne Thanks for joining the thread gogo! Thankyou Ray, unfortunately for me I didn't have Jodge around when designing the house Re: Ray's Adelaide build 28May 15, 2012 10:28 pm Me too! SunshineT's Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34585 Designs start: 4/12/09 DA: 5/7/11 Demo: 22/12/11 Slab: 24/2/12 Keys: 31/8/12 Re: Ray's Adelaide build 31May 16, 2012 8:44 am I like your design clueless! It would be hard to design a house with an awkward block like that but you've done a good job =) interested to see how it turns out! Re: Ray's Adelaide build 32May 16, 2012 10:03 am I'm still here, just had a busy afternoon at work. Damn work always seems to get in the way of life . I guess I'm thinking for the size of the block we have, I still come back to my original design. I know having the southern facing yard isn't ideal, but as much as I love the idea of having the pavillion style, it still cuts out valuable space (and adds to the build cost). So I think from here we'll just have to play with the existing layout to get that as schmick as possible - unless anyone else has a strong opinion otherwise that is. Re: Ray's Adelaide build 35May 16, 2012 11:46 am My contribution is to move Bed 3's wall out in line with the front half of the house. Re: Ray's Adelaide build 36May 16, 2012 11:55 am I agree with that too. I thought it went in cos of the tank, but if it doesn't, make the roof line..have as least valleys as poss. ( is that good English ?) Thank you Mclaren Re: Ray's Adelaide build 37May 16, 2012 12:14 pm What are people's views on the courtyard. I think a smaller one will be fine as it probably won't be used as a functional area, but what is wide enough to get amount amount of light in? And yes kiwi, that makes perfect good sense! My building thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=56583&start=120 Re: Ray's Adelaide build 38May 16, 2012 12:24 pm The courtyard is a nice idea - up to you how much room you need/depends on what planting you will put in I suppose - it would be amazing if you could have some celestory windows on that wall instead so you could move the wall back and have more room in the dining/family area - you could then have a bigger sliding door to let in more light - we have an Entertainer door which is about 3.2m wide and 2 panels slide back so it's really light and airy ... Re: Ray's Adelaide build 39May 16, 2012 12:30 pm My 10cents as well (can't have Kiwi having all the fun!) * Centre Wir robe door and use all wall space * Move ensuite door closer to external wall (perhaps a CSD?) allowing wall space in Master for dresser * Add hall space to Bed2 and move robe- Bed 2 will need soundproofing anyway being next to Theatre-so that also takes care of "noise factor" from Master! ) * Bump Bed 3 out to make same space as Bed 2 * Swap shower & Bath in main bathroom-this is western aspect so a highlight window in shower will allow light & shelf for shampoo etc * Centre laundry door ala Kiwi -No need for added cupboard that Kiwi put in as opposite garage entry door there is an existing cupboard close enough to front door to utilise as Coat cupboard etc...
