Hey, we've had an independent inspector go in just before plaster and would be going in again before handover. There were so many issues highlighted that PD had to fix before moving ahead and before I authorised release of the stage payment. Things like broken roof truss, walls not plumb, brick ties missing, build not as per specs etc. Cheers! Re: Anyone building in Kingsford Estate, Point Cook, Melbour 45Sep 05, 2012 6:03 pm Hi, any news from you guys? I did my first inspection this morning and everything is fine except some minor issues. Then the builder told me if I want to move in ASAP I need to send the invoice to bank to make the final payment, and the bank may need to do their own inspection as it is the final stage, this can take time, but I'm not sure how much time does it take, should I wait until they fix all the small issues or arrange the payment straight away? My 2c - best would be to ask the bank to issue you a final bank cheque for you to hand over to the builder at the time of settlement and hold it till they fix everything on the report, but that's just me! Good luck! Cheers! RM Re: Anyone building in Kingsford Estate, Point Cook, Melbour 47Sep 06, 2012 12:57 pm Hi Hao, First congr8 for house completion. If i am in your situation, i will do the same which silver_libran has suggested.. i will ask my bank to release the final payment to me and i will keep on hold until builder fix the issues. I have read on forums that people has struggle to get things done after payment. SO LIH has completed on time.. I am still waiting for pre-site meeting. shai Re: Anyone building in Kingsford Estate, Point Cook, Melbour 48Sep 07, 2012 10:32 am Hello Kingsford Community, i thought i would like to share one information. May be most of the people will be aware about PPR(Principal place of residence ) concession. If your land has settled after May2008 and you have moved in your house within year then there are some stamp duty tax reduction. Refer the link http://www.sro.vic.gov.au/sro/sronav.ns ... Allowance must be made for cabling and housing of Optical Network Terminal to fit with Telstra Smart Community®. No traditional copper wiring telephone connection will be possible at Kingsford. Connection to the Telstra Velocity,® a fibre-to-home optic network that supplies high-speed and stable connection service is included as part of the Contract of Sale document. To access this high-speed broadband, telephone service, digital Free to Air TV and Pay TV, homes need to be cabled to particular requirements. Please refer to telstrasmartcommunity.com and speak to your builder for more information. we went to visit our house this morning and our roof tiles have been installed btw, i thought i saw around 2-3 houses in kingsford estates with external antenna that's why i was surprised. i also remembered this is not allowed when we were handed with the kingsford estates guidelines...or maybe, i was wrong hubby was driving & he drove further at the back part of kingsford so maybe they were not within the estate....oh well.... Re: Anyone building in Kingsford Estate, Point Cook, Melbour 50Sep 22, 2012 5:48 pm hi guys we have moved in, I wonder what are the available internet service provider in Kingsford? I know there is Telstra velocity fibre network but it is very expensive. Re: Anyone building in Kingsford Estate, Point Cook, Melbour 51Sep 24, 2012 11:37 am Hi Hao, First congratulation to moving in your own house... One month back i checked with iinet and tpg and reply was no. I believe currently telstra is only provider in Kingsford. when ever you get connected pls give the feedback how the broadband and Tv signals is? How about LIH. is they fixed your minor issue? Last week i had pre-site meeting with LIH. They are charging me extra 4000 for slab because site has been classified as "P". hopefully by next month they will start the construction. shai Re: Anyone building in Kingsford Estate, Point Cook, Melbour 52Sep 24, 2012 12:58 pm shai Hi Hao, First congratulation to moving in your own house... Actually my site was classified as 'P' at the beginning, then the developer(Peet) provided something called 'certified compaction' or 'controlled fill certificate', and then the site became 'H', if they filled my site, there is no reason they did not fill your site as they are in one estate, so ask your builder or developer about this. Re: Anyone building in Kingsford Estate, Point Cook, Melbour 53Sep 24, 2012 7:18 pm congrats hao! telstra velocity fiber network is way too expensive i have to agree. i rang tpg & they said that i will need to get my phone line from telstra(elsewhere) and they'll provide the internet connection. ring them as well so u can check for yourself. let us know how u go. Re: Anyone building in Kingsford Estate, Point Cook, Melbour 54Oct 05, 2012 8:58 am Guys - sorry for not posting all this time - we got busy with moving in. It's been two weeks now, so settling in almost! I rang TPG, but I was told they will not provide to Kingsford? I was told at the sales office that Kingsford could only have Telstra - the people that are already in before us all have Telstra, so we went for Telstra! But I'm glad we did - the speed's amazing! TPG doesn't come anywhere near! Dodo is Dud-o! I reckon it's worth it! But it's upto you! Cheers!
