I'm building my first home and after signing contracts (H&L package with Affordable Living) back this time last year, titles finally issued on the 9th.
I'm completely green as to the process, and even working for the bank doesn't make things easier - my finance has been a nightmare and right now my approvals have all lapsed and since the deal is >6 months old they need to start a whole new application, meaning it's not all "ready to go" like it was supposed to be as soon as the titles were issued. Fingers crossed there aren't any issues, every step has been problematic thus far.
Interested in any information that people are willing to share - for example how long will the whole process take from titles issued to handover? Once I provide the new approvals to both the developer and the builder, what happens then? When should I receive documentation from the shire (I think it's City of Swan?), and what sort of documentation do I expect to get?
I'm yet to do prestart because the builder will not organise anything until I get new approvals (fair enough I suppose). Last email I have says they are still waiting for site survey which has been marked urgent, then they still need to do the working drawings and go through site quotes then submit to shire and AFTER that they will book me in for prestart. Does that process sound correct? It really means nothing to me - what sort of timeframe should this take?
Sorry for the long post and looking forward to replies!
