Cutting caesarstone

We have decided on a different cooktop and oven, however upon discussing this with the builder they advise no variations to measurements once contracts are signed.
Does anybody know if its possible to get the caesarstone cut once its installed. Its only about 4 mm difference in the cooktop cutout.
Thanks
You wil have to check this, but my guts telling me 4mm wouldn't necessarily need to be cut, but just filed? Look up a stone bench specialist place in you area and ask them. There is a place near me called newgrove bench tops in leather st breakwater (Geelong). That where my hubby's work orders the stone tops from, he's a cabinet maker. Someone there could tell you straight out.
I would say that it should be possible but could be pretty messy and may be a risk of it cracking when in place and cutting.

Maybe ask the builder who the supplier is so you can ask them or call Caesarstone Australia and ask - 1300 279 927
Yeah apparently they'd have a special router for stone. It wouldn't be an issue to take another 4mm off. It wont crack either. Call someone that's local to you for advise.
I actually do cooktop & sink cutouts on a waterjet at a stonemason company where I work in melbourne. Let me know if you want more info and we can help you out.
Thanks everyone for your responses... I have contacted the builder again and spoke to a manager. He is supposed to get back to me tomorrow so fingers crossed they will do it. I will keep you in mind Buttercup if we get to that point.
Hi everyone... thankfully today after getting management involved and shafting our atttitude filled building coordinator, all is resolved and they are making the kitchen to the new appliance measurements, at no charge!!!.
thanks for your help.
