Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 09, 2012 12:56 pm I have seen a house that I like the exterior colours of and was hoping someone would be able hazard a guess at what colour the render was. If I was brave, I would knock on the door and ask if they knew but I'm not Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I was thinking it was similar to Colorbond Dune.... do you think I am way off? Re: Does anyone know what colour render this is???? 7May 09, 2012 4:04 pm Thanks for your responses The colour looks very similar to a paint swatch I have of Dune but I agree with Zarli that it is probably too dark to be Dune. I put the pic from the link Rudolf posted side by side my pic and it looks much darker than the Dune in that pic. It actually looks a little green compared to the Dune, so D@n might be on the money with Evening Haze Zarli the Lundy Grey looks like a warm colour. Is it that in real life? Some greys can be really cold looking. Humble, do you have a pic of your house on the forum? Ahhhh this colour choosing business is hard! I have been trying to find a display home with the combination of colours that we like so I can ask what they have used but haven't had much luck. We plan on having Colorbond Monument roof, fascia & gutters and a dark timber look garage door and front door. We just can't settle on the render colour - don't want it too light, but not too dark either. We have a grey colour scheme inside so thought we would stick with that outside but not sure if it may be a little cold looking. Any suggestions??? Here's the elevations - front Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Side - this will be visable from the road so has to be pretty too Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We also plan of getting dark timber blinds for the windows to match the garage door and make the front of the house look more balanced. They have some darker ones then beaver (and lighter) but in the same tones...i think they are named wombat, koala...things like that! From what I am getting this could be the type of tone you are after. Re: Does anyone know what colour render this is???? 11May 10, 2012 9:33 am Dune looks fantastic with Monument and grey tones. I have them but no render. I have dark brown bricks, dark charcoal tiles, Monument fascia, eaves, downpipes, garage door and front door, and Dune cladding. Will be doing the cladding in timber cladding soon, then hubby is rendering the front of our house in dune and western myall. Had a guy once knocked on my door and wanted to know where I got the rims I have on my car. Unfortunately for him they were a one off custom made job. He is still trying to source them Re: Does anyone know what colour render this is???? 13May 11, 2012 12:29 pm Thanks for the pic humble I will be getting a sample pot of snuggle pie - it looks really nice with the dark roof and timber door. Vans I have a swatch of Beaver and you are right it is a lovely colour. I can't decide if its slightly browner than Dune or not - I'm hopeless with colours! I'll have to have a squizzy at your thread Monument and Dune really do go well together. My hubby is worried that the Dune will end up looking too light over such a large space. Does this happen? Maybe it would be worth looking at 150%??? Re: Does anyone know what colour render this is???? 15May 11, 2012 8:17 pm auds knock on the door - people love that you love their colors. or if you are too nervous to knock on the door, how about write them a short note with your contact details and they can call you. Or not if they don't want to. I know how you feel - I saw a house I loved in our suburb and was too nervous to knock on the door to ask. So I wrote a note and drove back, but guess what? They didn't have a letter box yet! I couldn't believe it, but didn't dare go up to the door, so I drove off. Totally regretted it later. If you see a place in real life that you like (which is much more reliable than pics) then you should contact them - either by knocking or leaving a note. (I can see the house in the pic you posted at least has a letter box! ) I bet they are flattered.
