Life suddenly got very hectic, and DH has been working 3 jobs (old job, new job & after hours freelance) while he transitions to his new full time job next week, so I've had to pull some extra weight around the house. Have been having some interesting discussions with our landlord via email, but thankfully now all sorted. We have the rental until December 7, and an extension to December 14 if required. Internals are all complete, and externals remaining are: Garage door, rendered facade capping delivered but not installed, external painting, and internal & external clean. We aren't happy with the quality of workmanship with them laying the carpet, which is disappointing, but we'll see what happens with the QA before kicking up a stink. I spent Thursday going back and forth with the builder, trying to firm up dates. At this stage the timeline looks like this: 12-16 November: Quality Control checks and any subsequent fixes 19-23 November: Final invoice issued (19th), first inspection with us, any fixes we identify 26-28 November: Bank to release final payment, handover arranged 29 November-7 December: Handover booked and completed. So things are still a little unknown, but the countdown is most certainly on! Our old LG finally went to heaven on the morning I was trying to wash 3 days worth of dirty nappies. So not a good start to the day. Ask anyone that knows me. Secondly, it's already in a weird place. I'm annoyed, frustrated, excited, planning, overwhelmed, and then angry again. Most of these emotions would be manageable or gone if only the builder would give firm dates. Seeing the carpet yesterday gave me an appreciation for why they haven't.... Yeah we are close now, thanks for the compliments! Our builder promised a fast build, and they have delivered. You will be where we are before you know it! Went for a drive today, and the bobcat was scooting around doing the external clean while I was watching, painters were painting the outside, and looked like the internal clean might have been going on too. Still waiting on external doors to be painted, garage lintel & door. Oh, and the gas meter was installed! Guessing we will have PCI some time mid-late next week....? Didn't get out of the car for a sticky beak today as baby BN was asleep. So............. PCI on 20th, final invoice issued ~19th, bank takes up to 7 days to process, and they need 4 days to book handover & appliances installation after paid in full.
