Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 11, 2008 5:11 pm Hi everyone,
I am just wanting to know if you are able to negotiate on a block of land from a developer (stockland) the same as you can a private sale. I guess if you don't have to pay more why would you. I thought maybe you might have bargaining power if there was a few blocks left and they wanted to sell them to release the next stage. Re: negotiating land. 2Mar 11, 2008 5:47 pm brendondanielle,
You can negotiate anything! Try books by Herb Cohen. You're not guaranteed to have much leverage in this situation but the worst that could happen is that they'll so "no". Re: negotiating land. 3Mar 12, 2008 3:20 pm Thankyou Virgin Builder for your advise. I will check out the books. Your right . I just didn't want to look dumb but I guess like you said the worst they can say is no. Will do some reading first. Thanks again. Re: negotiating land. 4Mar 12, 2008 3:36 pm hi brendondanielle,
Like it was said earlier all you can do is ask, we are building in Lakeside Pakenham a Delfin Estate and being new into the game we thought it can't hurt to ask and they gave us a $5000 rebate on the block, after that we thought that was pretty easy and also asked the builder and they gave us a reduction on our base price which everyone told me the builder will not reduce their price at all. Good Luck. Adam Hi, This is my first post. We are planning to buy new home via House and Land (H&L) Package around Boxhill/Gables/Marsden Park in Syndey. Googled reviews for most of… 0 10460 Very good points. Thanks so much ponzutwo for your advice. Appreciate it. 2 10363 That's very helpful, thank you. I was mostly interested in knowing if a spoon drain requires a specific slope, but I appreciate the extra information. 4 3919 |
