Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 05, 2012 7:33 pm I'm trying to get a handle on the cost of strip footings for my new house. I've renovated houses, never built one from scratch. I've had the soil test done "m" and the report tells me the size and how much TM is needed. Is there a trade, or can I 'subcontract" out the excavation, lining, putting in the TM and pouring the concrete. I'm consdiering OB, but still getting a handle on how much I'd actually save vs delays and holding costs, and how much time I have as I work M-F. I'm in Melbourne, and building in an established area, so that invloves digging near boundaries. Anybody had particular experiences with a subbie that is good at this, or had experience taking this path. Appreciate power, sewerage and stormwater need to be done before footings are poured. A talking dog, don't worry what it's saying, it's amazing it can even speak.
