Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 05, 2012 12:13 am Hi All Just checking if anyone knows the length of period you have to make fault claims with Fairmont Homes in SA. From what I remember I believe its 6 months to report minor faults (ie power point in wrong location etc etc) I only have a few minor faults with the house, nothing extreme. Just a stain mark on the back side of the ensuite mirror from the glue used (or something of that nature) and about 3 other minor things. I'm only 2 weeks away from being in my place for 6 months. Just trying to see whether if I have missed the cut off to report these minor faults or not. If I have, oh well. But would be nice to have them amended for free Cheers Re: Fairmont Homes (SA) - Fault Claim Period 2May 15, 2012 9:16 pm No definitely not. We sent our 6 months maintenance about 12 months. So 6 months over and they came out. Re: Fairmont Homes (SA) - Fault Claim Period 3May 18, 2012 10:14 pm jessie87 No definitely not. We sent our 6 months maintenance about 12 months. I just reported an issue with out pipework under our ensuite basin leaking last week. They haven't been out yet and the ensuite basin is not really useable so I hope it doesn't take too long. Re: Fairmont Homes (SA) - Fault Claim Period 4May 20, 2012 9:53 am Thanks Jessie87... its only a few minor things such as our outdoor gas point for bbq was meant to be flush with the wall and they installed a tap style one that sticks out. They arnt that big of a problem, but you want what you pay for... if you know what I mean Been following your blog. I really hope your neighbour removes head from donkey a.s.a.p Re: Fairmont Homes (SA) - Fault Claim Period 5May 20, 2012 6:30 pm ummmm it all depends on what needs to be done. because the give the details to contractors so it depends on them, how busy etc. Plaster it took them a while but the painter only a week. Yeh 1stBuild FR, you definitely shouldnt have to pay. You invest a lot of money in your home and if it was done correctly in the 1st place then it wouldnt be a problem Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7932 I apologise for any confusion, but your understanding is correct.
