Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Another plan to critique 31Mar 13, 2008 10:52 am 3timesbuilda I simply pointed out some personal experience - having been through hundreds of display homes and formed an opinion on them I noted that excessivly large WIR's always seemed to be messy despite an ohterwise tidy house. I am sure that the OP will be happy with this house regardless of any changes - it is a beautiful house. Our reason for a large WIR is for all of the things that can be quite bulky - for some strange reason I have a fair few ball gowns and winter coats in different materials and colours. We tried the idea of having the winter wardrobe and the summer wardrobe - but Sydney is so different (like our current summer!) that I was forever pulling things in and out of their storage spaces. We'd like to put a nice long ottoman or chaise in there so it could be a real "dressing" room. My mum makes jewellery - so I have heaps! And prefer to keep that all out of the bathroom. But all good thoughts I had lots of practice being neat with our WIR when our unit was on the market - it was hard but great training! After 4 years - we're in!
