Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 03, 2012 3:33 pm We moved into our Porter Davis home (Creswick 24) about a month ago and apart from a few things that needed attention we are fairly happy with it.
One of the things that was missing at handover was the kickplate for our Technika Bellissimo oven 90cm oven. When we did our colour selection with Hopetoun the consultant asked us if we wanted the stainless steel kickplate which costs approximately $300. We agreed and it was added to the colour selection document. Now, we are told by PD that there isn't an option for a kickplate and that this is considered a discrepancy/error. Our building coordinator is saying that there is no refund/compensation because we didn't pay for it - as it's not listed separately in the contract. I'm so over following PD up for things so will probably just write this one off. That's what they rely on .... it's hard but keep onto them - $300 is $300 and better in your pocket ... so what will it look like without a kickplate? Re: Now they are saying a kickpanel isn't available for our 6May 03, 2012 4:58 pm khamtran One thing is for sure though, I don't think we'll ever build again. The whole process was way too stressful. Would rather just buy a home that's already built Stressful? Ours was great! We have had our SS back to the house fixing little bits and pieces and not once has he sounded annoyed...you just need a different builder next time As for the kick plate, why have they not itemised every single upgrade etc? How do you know the costs are right etc? I would ask for an itemised breakdown of EVERYTHING you paid for. Call Technika and see if you can buy a kick plate, my guess if you can it will cost half as much anyway! PD are telling us there isn't a kickplate for our oven but I will call Technika to check. I also saw your blog, nice house by the way Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 Hi Chippy, no there isn't, gave it a really good look through and literally opened everything and checked all edges as well. Hence the question, just hoping someone would… 2 2083 |
