Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 02, 2012 9:04 pm G'Day Ladies and Gents My partner and i are going through the hoops to get a house plan finalised with Homestead Homes. The contract is pretty much written up.....and they are waiting for their $2000 for house plans, stormwater layout, footings etc. We have our wedding coming up in the later part of the year so we waiting till the stress of that is out the way before we start building We have our patch of dirt in Woodhaven, Blakes Crossing, SA Friends and family built with Homestead over a decade ago and had no major complaints. We would love to hear from the current market, what you have experienced good or bad . Would you do anything differently next time etc. Anything to look out for. The threat had some good info We were actually going to miss the cut off to the FHOG so i said to our consultant can you help us out and she discounted are contract price $10,000 more so we fall under the cut off of $575,000. Cant complain with that. Paying our $2000 next week so prelim and plan stuff can get underway. That way council approval can be sorted before the wedding.
