Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 02, 2012 8:56 pm Hi Just wondering what what people have paid to upgrade to 2 pack in the kitchen? We have been quoted $6700 just to upgrade from laminex. Im thinking this is over the top & might just upgrade the doors after finishing. So do people think this is a bit expensive & would it be possible just to do doors later on? Re: 2 pack in the kitchen 2May 02, 2012 10:40 pm It gets complicated later on as you will have to change not only the doors, but also the seen end panels etc. It would have to be striped back to the carcus to do it over again in 2 pack. Re: 2 pack in the kitchen 3May 02, 2012 10:47 pm As a rough quide Stacey if i was pricing a tall cupboard like a pantry it costs $1075 a metre in laminate and $1400 in a two pack finish. @builderforlife Building inspector and passionate about construction When you need an expert to take a look. ETA: That's for 21 x drawers; 3 x cupboard doors; 1 x bin pullout door; 4 x overhead doors and 4 x tall pantry doors and all the sides of cabinetry / back of return 'island' etc. Renovating our 1970s home Re: 2 pack in the kitchen 5May 07, 2012 5:44 pm We paid $5500 (from memory) 3 years ago to upgrade ours from Laminex. That included 7 pot drawers, 4 standard drawers, 11 cupboard doors (various sizes), 2 end panels on the L shaped island, 2 back panels on the L shaped island, 2 end panels and 2 'filler' pieces on the upper cupboards, 1 large upright panel separating the fridge from the wall over tower and all the kickers. I agree with Dazandstace. Better to do it now, than later, as it is tricky will all the end panels. Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! The joiner has come back with a quote of close to 5k. I think we are going to not do it. Attaching panelling is something they are dead… 11 10123 The gap can be adjusted so it's tighter. You can definitely set up corner cabinets to have the same gap as standard doors. 2 8594 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 3664 |
