Our build is about to commence in the next few weeks, we are building the Seaview 36, we have found them to be most helpful, nothing has been a problem. Built the Seaview 36 with Rawson Homes - Read about it on my blog http://lamaisondemorgan.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Build with Rawson Homes 8May 04, 2012 5:36 pm We are also building with Rawson, bricking starts next week. We are in Beaumont Hills and we are so happy so far.Our SS is fantastic, we have alot of variations and is double checking things every coupld of days with us so nothing is missed. I would much prefer this than to not hear at all.. The site is spotless and the workmanship so far is spot on. We have built 2 EBraes before and are very happy we have selected Rawson to build our Clifton.. We need sunshine for the next 3 weeks... Rain stay away.... Re: Build with Rawson Homes 9May 04, 2012 6:06 pm THE RISE we have alot of variations I'm very interested in this ... as it's the situation we're going to be in. At the moment we lean towards Rawson, just because the Edge MkII gets ~95% towards what we wanted in a home when we had something custom drawn-up (but suspect we can't afford regardelss of who might build it as drawn) and yet hopefully will be affordable. If someone else is noticeably cheaper that may change; however my better half's done a lot of research into a lot of things and it seems Rawson's most likely to be able to provide a lot of them where others won't (eg. Hettisch brand kitchen "mechanicals" - hinges, mechanisms, sliders etc). However ... to do what we want to do, we need to flip the front half of the house (to put the garage on the western wall & downhill side), yet not flip the rear of the house (to keep the kitchen on the western wall where there are few windows). We also want to build a 4-car garage, which obviously means structural changes apart from cosmetic ones (example of cosmetic ones being the moving of 1st-floor interior walls around), and part of the garage also means shuffling laundry+powder to behind the extended garage. I guess - were your changes that big? Hmmm, maybe I should ask these questions in a new thread? I'm interested to hear the "Rawson relevant" answer, but also interested to hear overall. Build with Rawson Homes 10May 04, 2012 6:19 pm Hi Forg, We flipped the rear kitchen/family in ours, but not the front half of the house. Ours was changed at $0 cost. I'd say as long as it doesn't involve a change to the outline of the house, it should be pretty straight forward. We also added an additional garage (to total 3) and the price wasn't out of this world. Re: Build with Rawson Homes 11May 04, 2012 6:22 pm Without saying how much the home cost (because I think asking tha could be a bit rude - like asking how much someone earns ), can you say how much extra the garage cost though? Three cars wide? I presume you're talking a Rawson - is it maybe even an Edge? Re: Build with Rawson Homes 12May 04, 2012 6:24 pm Forg, We had changed our design quite a bit from standard with new deisgn front mstr beedroom, new ensuite and wir locations and sizes. Extra room tagged on back of garage 3x3 for extra storage/workshop. Changed a kids rumpas area and made a walk through 2 way instead of 1, needing to change BIR's to suite, enlarged Alfresco and added windows. So we did make quite a bit of changes. There wont be another house built like this. And also created our own facade. The paperwork , estimating , drawing side took quite awhile with Rawson to be honest. This part was frustrating of course to make sure it all wworked. We paid initial deposit early September and came out of council Feb. And are curently up to frame. From Sept to Feb was not only on Rawson but our pool company mucking them around. Glad to say walking through the house today for the first time, very happy with our outcome. Re: Build with Rawson Homes 13May 21, 2012 1:45 pm For those that were building with rawson, did you find the fixed price they offered pretty fixed? Did you get any free promotions or upgrades in that fixed price, and what did you feel that you needed to upgrade? I guess I'm trying to work out whether the fixed price will get me something of a decent standard, or I need to upgrade a lot. Re: Build with Rawson Homes 14Jun 19, 2012 8:24 pm Hi guys, We are also building with Rawson (Seaview 36), very impressed with the quality of their inclusions. Just signed a tender and waiting for plans to be drawn up. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly! We were lucky enough to get the Suppliers Bonus, did anyone else get this? Re: Build with Rawson Homes 15Jun 19, 2012 9:41 pm jo0807 - congrats on signing your tender. Thats great. We signed back in September so nearing end of our construction which is very exciting. Whats the suppliers bonus ?????? sounds interesting... Re: Build with Rawson Homes 16Jun 20, 2012 7:20 am Welcome Jo0807, looking forward to seeing your Seaview progress! I'm intrigued with this builders bonus!? Just signed a tender and waiting for plans to be drawn up. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly! We were lucky enough to get the Suppliers Bonus, did anyone else get this? Wait a minute ... you signed a tender and are now waiting for plans to be drawn up? Have you had plans drawn already & you're awaiting modifications - or are these the first plans you've seen apart from the promo material? We're getting plans with our tender ... the reason for the tender process to be taking longer than everyone else's may be becoming clear to me now. Re: Build with Rawson Homes 18Jun 20, 2012 8:41 am We got plans after our tender was presented. We only had minor changes to our plans, and these were mentioned in our tender, but drawn up and received I think 4 weeks after. We signed our tender on Sunday. We are building the Fernside 38, but with a few modifications that now make it 42 sq. We are also waiting for our plans to be drawn. The Rise - it was an additional package that include flat profile roof tiles, rain showe heads (the ones that come from the roof) caesar stone for the vanity tops, dishwasher, microwave, pivot front door, inverter airconditioner - I am sure there was more, but I cant think of anything right now. It was supposed to be $2500, but we got it for free. Forg - I think yours must be taking so long as you have changed the original house so much that you have made a new house. They probably have to see drawn plans to be able to give you a proper quote. Meeting a tree person on the block today. We have 11 BIG trees that need to be removed. Thought I would be proactive and start getting quotes now. Luckily as the block is large we dont have to pay to have them taken off site. We are going to have them taken to the back and then they can be cut up for firewood. i think we will have a life time supply.
