Re: Build with Rawson Homes 190Jun 08, 2013 9:22 pm does anyone know what interior paint colour Rawson has used on their chifley display home at Gledswood? Re: Build with Rawson Homes 191Jun 09, 2013 8:23 am Not sure about the paint colour, but they'd be using the same Taubmans paint that you get. Its not upgraded. Probably best to ring their sales office at Gledswood hills and ask. We are building the Chifley 42. I think we need to treck back out to Gledswood Hills for another look before we finalise selections etc. Its a looooonng way for us. Have accepted the tender (even though its not quite right) and moving on to external colour selections. The selections pack we received has some great brick brochures, but doesn't include selections for the upgrade pack (birthday bonus) that we chose. Re: Build with Rawson Homes 192Jun 09, 2013 8:28 am Tony if you are building with Rawson you can ask your CSO or the colour consultants and they will give you the full selections list for each house. I think for memory you are not building with Rawson, so you might be able to ask at the show home Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Build with Rawson Homes 193Jun 09, 2013 6:23 pm yeah hoping someone already knew. Rawson has some great interior designers. Re: Build with Rawson Homes 194Jun 10, 2013 2:23 pm hi everyone. this is a great source of info people like us dreaming of a new house. we've set our eyes on balmoral majestic when we do a KDR in Holroyd. still in the process of collating info and doing our own risk assessment before we start the process, that is request a tender. we have been at homeworld now 3x and had spoken with the same rawson consultant 3x as well. he is very accommodating and had provided us some estimates. we just need to sort out our finances first to make sure we are comfortable with our repayments should we end up proceeding with the KDR. feeling quite excited for people here in the forum who have taken the plunge and nearing completion of their dream homes. Re: Build with Rawson Homes 195Jun 18, 2013 8:55 am its been a while.. but here is the update.. We got our tender and it was well over our budget. Additional site cost of almost 50k is the killer there. Now we are in the process of cutting our upgrades to fit our budget. I also had some concerns about the 120 day validity of the tender given i am going through the council.. i have asked them to increase that to 180.. will see how we go... Prem I would not worry about the 120 days. They say this as their admin process should take 120 days. Ours took 136 days and a lot of people here have gone well over 200 days and Rawson does not charge anything, unlike some other large builders that charge a monthly fee. Generally admin takes so long due to Rawson being busy. We'll most likely put our $950 down in the next couple weeks with Rawson and were told by the salesman that they'd accept 180 days - not sure if they know its going to take longer than this on their end anyway or if they are just trying to win our business but either way I don't think you should have too much of a problem. He also mentioned that he is yet to see anyone being charged for going over this in any event. Also was asking him about the increases in payments (from $3K to $5 and $7k to $10K as mentioned above) - aparently it is dependant on what your building, for us, a single story on vacant a lot its still $3k and $7k. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Build with Rawson Homes 198Jun 18, 2013 8:36 pm robbie55 PPrem I also had some concerns about the 120 day validity of the tender given i am going through the council.. i have asked them to increase that to 180.. will see how we go... Knock down rebuild is the 5k/7k because of the extra admin work and what not they have to do. Re: Build with Rawson Homes 199Jun 18, 2013 11:05 pm $3.5k/nothing is also the charge when the sales guy upsells what they're willing to actually build & they couldn't be bothered with the extra admin that a few design-rearranges would cost them. If they could charge a few people $3.5k and deliver absolutely nothing they could probably do really well financially. I might start charging random people I meet on the street $3.5k from tomorrow, and deliver nothing; could be quite lucrative! Re: Build with Rawson Homes 200Jun 19, 2013 7:11 pm That charge is not for nothing. It comes off the final price, so it's more like a deposit Just started the Build process for Chifley 42 with Rawson homes, will keep you all posted with the Build progress. 0 2441 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17518 3 47414 |
