Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building at Allura Estate? 29Apr 22, 2013 9:23 am Hi just wanna bump this thread as I'm thinking of buying a townhouse opposite the park with Henley. I'm tossing up between Allura and Reflections in Tarneit (by the Wetlands). Anyone hear any good info that could swing me in the direction of Allura? I guess I'm tossing up between living in front of a lake in the wetlands with a balcony (Reflections, also more expensive and $700pa body corporate), or across from the Allura park without a balcony (cheaper and more inclusions). Btw I have lots of family and friends in Hoppers but work past the city, so distance from the CBD doesn't matter to me as much. Re: Anyone building at Allura Estate? 30Apr 22, 2013 10:04 am Do they have annual body corporate fee in Allura? If they don't charge annual fee, i would definitely say Allura. But, looking at your description, I'm more towards allura. What about the size of the house? Personally, I don't use balcony that much. As long as the living area is facing parks/wetlands, you can enjoy the scenery from inside your house - balcony is not necessarily required. I'm not sure about the facility in Tarneit. However, there will be woolworths in Allura - walking distance. But this is very subjective of me hahaha - that's why I purchased a land in allura as opposed to the neighbouring estate, like bellevue, gateway etc... Hope that helps. Re: Anyone building at Allura Estate? 31Apr 22, 2013 10:38 am Nah no body corporate in Allura. The balcony is the biggest drawcard for us. My wife and I would love one, and would definitely spend time out there just chilling and looking at the view. Tarneit facilities aren't too bad- 3 minute drive to Woolies but not walking distance.. This is the ONLY thing keeping Reflections ahead of Allura. The Allura package (townhouse) is definitely better overall. It does depend on how nice the park will be compared to artist's impressions. Also concerned about flooding in Truganina from Leakes Rd. My head says Allura, but the heart says Reflections... Which to follow lol Re: Anyone building at Allura Estate? 32Apr 22, 2013 11:25 am Allura is one of stockland's communities. I went past Mernda Village (a more developed Stocklands comunity) yesterday to go to 1 of the display houses. I actually fell in love with the area, the parks and the master plan - if only it's closer to city/access to freeway, I won't hesitate buying a land there. Well my point is, since Allura is one of stockland's communities, I'm assured that the park will be as nice... Also, the townhouse in Allura is very close to the display village which means it's a premium and well-maintained location - a big plus! One of my friends is living in Morris rd, I've never heard him complaining about flooding near Leakes rd over the years... Good luck with whatever you decide! Re: Anyone building at Allura Estate? 33May 10, 2013 8:58 pm A friendly warning to anyone who is thinking of buying land in Allura. I've bought land in Allura (Stage 7, Marquands Rd) and house construction is almost finished. When I contacted NBNCo about connecting fibre, they said there's no rollout before November and even that's not guaranteed. Considering the land settled in December last year, that's a huge delay. When we bought the land we were told it has NBN already. Didn't bother to check it at that time. Now we'll be without any decent internet for 6 months, possibly more. You can get a satellite phone due to Telstra's Universal Service Obligation, but who uses home phone this days? This is probably not high on many people's agenda but when you get into your new home and see that there's no Internet then you'll understand what I mean. Your only option is very expensive and low download limit wireless. Moral of the story is make sure you check in NBNCo's website or call them to see when they'll be rolling out NBN in your estate. Add 3 months to that as they generally delay those rollouts and don't trust the salesman unless he puts it in the contract in writing that there will be ready to connect NBN when you finish building your home. Re: Anyone building at Allura Estate? 34May 11, 2013 12:56 pm Hi All, I m a new member to this forum. I am thinking of buying Henleys Ready Built home package. I was wondering has anyone already opted for one and how has been the experience so far? Also, which are the most sought after streets within Allura Estate? Thanks, AJ Re: Anyone building at Allura Estate? 35May 12, 2013 11:35 am I would say that the best street in every estate is those near the display houses. But the current release is not near the display house. My suggestion is to go to the sales centre and ask them what are the available lots. Regarding NBN, yea i'm also disappointed with the late NBN rollout. My lot will settle soon (stage8), but when i looked at nbn rollout map, nbn construction hasnt commenced yet. Good riddance if you ask me. They stole so much money from me and my husband for doing initial design plans. Thank god we found another local builder around Pagewood and… 6 10219 Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24926 |
