Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 24, 2012 6:18 pm We have just done the house handover. While checking on the carpet, we have doubts about the type of underlay used. In the colour selection, we picked the best catgory underlay since it's very soft and spongy, but now stepping on the carpet barefoot, we don't get the soft and spongy feeling of the underlay we choose, we suspect it's not the right type of underlay as we have picked. Is there anyway we can check the type of underlay used without damaging the carpet? We havn't asked the builder yet, but I bet they will tell us it's the best underlay that's used. Re: How to find out what underlay is used under the carpet ? 3Apr 26, 2012 11:08 am Go to the corner of a room and gently lift the carpet up from the edge, pull as far as you can clearly see the underlay. You can tuck it back in once you have checked Hope it helps (In youtube you can watch how carpet is laid so you will understand what I mean) Orchid 4200 with Burbank: Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53034 House Built in 7 Months and 2 weeks Hi l plan to install a self adhesive vinyl plank floor. l first need to attach masonite boards underlay to by plywood subfloor of my house.
