Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Double doors into home theatre? Or single? 21Apr 21, 2012 7:39 pm at quick glance it looks nice! Split level, right? Is North where your Alfresco is? So you are building a house and a duplex? Or one on top of the other? Or single? 22Apr 21, 2012 7:48 pm Yes, it's a front/rear duplex block - the first plan was the rear. The last plan is the front. Slight slope, so we have incorporated steps in the front plan to cater for the drop and to add a bit of "wow". North is to the alfresco corner as you mention, so I hope we have it properly solar oriented. Worried about the afternoon sun hitting the master bed, but should be able to counter with some foliage. Re: Double doors into home theatre? Or single? 23Apr 21, 2012 9:23 pm If north is directly in the corner where the Alfresco is then bingo! that is the perfect solar orientation. All your living areas are facing beautifully north. If West is directly on the opposite corner (sorry, not sure exactly where north is) but if so then I would move Master window. Where it is currently will get hot afternoon sun. But if you move it to above where the bed is, then it should face south (correct?) in which case it will be much more comfortable. Nice work!
