If you're not sure what to look for (which is likely for structural issues unless you're a builder yourself) then getting an independent inspector in is worth considering - we did for our build. Some people apparently have nothing better to do than comment on other people's sigs. Re: meeting with ss next week, just quick question guys 6Apr 21, 2012 9:43 am No not really as our tradies are generally doing a pretty good job (except for the painters apparently as the SS isn't happy with them) - the inspector was surprised at the attention to detail that he said he often finds lacking with volume builders. But then again my build isn't your build, so you can't take any peace of mind from the results my inspector found - if you're not confident that you can figure out whether everything that is in your plans has been translated correctly to the build/rough-ins and it's all in the right place/done correctly up to code then getting an inspector is worth considering. In NSW a lot of developers of subdivisions put covenants on the land which normally… 0 6834 1. Roof cleaning and paint - which colour do you recommend? I often see black/ dark grey in use these days but I would prefer… 0 8594 i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 16404 |
