Actually, same here. Took forever for our stairs. And we won't be getting our external stairs till after we move in. I think Mat underestimated how long the stairs ordering would take. Maybe they were more used to doing single storeys and so learning a few things along the way for double storeys? Re: Potupay Build-We begin again with Zen 149Aug 16, 2012 4:15 pm Your internal stairs came much sooner than ours, they actually measured all the stairs at once, they did measure sc and ours originally but the genneral staircase guy, said they did it too early, then we had the issue with our design, so more delays, so they ended up doing measure on everyone's at the same time! Love your door. If we hadn't gone the custom door route, yours is the kind of door we were looking at. And with your walls painted, your place feels lovely and light! Does it feel surreal to see your house being built after all the delays you had with Cosmo? Have emailed to ask for handover...no reply... It's like pulling hen's teeth at the moment Signed on April 10, 2012...maybe because the major payments are done so it's slowed right down? That's 23 weeks if we've counted correctly....& we started with slab & frames already up! I wonder if we will be in by Christmas? Hmmmm - here's hoping Re: Potupay Build-We begin again with Zen 155Sep 18, 2012 6:18 pm Hi potupay, thats not good news at all, I have to say though I found from roof to gyprock took forever, over 6weeks, then we waited 4weeks with absolute minimal work due to a hold up of skirtings, then the doors delivered were wrong, it just seemed to take forever, but once tilers came in it went really fast I asked for handover date so many times, but never got an answer. Matt b has been away, so maybe call Andrew and check with him, he normally hands over the house after gyprock to mat to fit out, but with him away maybe things have slipped. I would call not email as they forget to check their email a lot How long was your contract? I assume they normally work on slab one week, frame one week, so maybe 23 instead of 25 week contract?? Keep us updated. Re: Potupay Build-We begin again with Zen 156Sep 21, 2012 4:59 am I was thinking the same as gogo, that Andrew takes it to gyprock then Matt B takes over.i know he was sick then went away, but that is no excuse. Someone else should be handling this stage for you. We found after gyprock to be the most frustrating stage. Then everything flew the last 3 weeks. Giving Andrew or the office a call is the way to go. Or even better, sms Andrew is the best way to communicate. We noticed that you have blueboard on the side of your home (similar to ours) - why wasn't it painted/rendered prior to removing of their scaffold? Re: Potupay Build-We begin again with Zen 158Sep 21, 2012 9:06 am Hi choco, welcome to H1.
We also had cladding to our house (we built with zen and moved in 7 weeks ago) but it wasn't painted when they had scaffold up. I think they just put up a temporary scaffold to paint it, otherwise they just use ladders. They try to get scaffold down asap due to the high cost! Where are you building? Re: Potupay Build-We begin again with Zen 159Sep 21, 2012 2:41 pm Delays like that are awful aren't they ... you're all excited one minute and then left hanging the next .... hoping you get lots of action soon!!! Hi gogo, thanks for your response. I think that makes a lot of sense. We are building in the Hills district. We have seen your thread and lots of pictures to go through. They really look amazing, just like a display home! We hope our journey and end product will be as gorgeous as yours! Ardo That is so funny! I wonder how many people know who Larry Haun is these days. I have a couple of young guys we call Mo 1 & Mo 2 who run a crew of 6 boys and… 9 15514 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17591 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9565 |
