Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 12, 2012 9:51 am Hi All, I'll be looking to start building at the end of the year, (Brisbane City Council area) and I'm on a corner block. In order to fit the house where i want it i need to get a siting variation on the front/road boundary (relaxed from 6 to 4.5m). This allows the building to be 2m from the neighbour which shares the same front road as my house, and 2m from the boundary for the neighbour that shares the side road with my house (essentially the neighbour at the rear of my house). My question is this, as neither of the neighbour boundaries are the ones which require the siting variation - do I need a Neighbours Statement form as part of my proposal? As I'm doing a knockdown and rebuild (replacing a single storey house with a double storey) theres potential for the new house to block existing views from the neighbours (not of anything spectacular but obstructed nonetheless) and I'd hate for them to affect the build. Thanks for your help Re: BCC - Siting variation on corner block 2Apr 12, 2012 10:28 am When we built our place at Moggill, a corner of the gargage was about 5mtrs from the front boundary instead of the required 6 mtrs. We had to get a form from our neighbour saying he didn't mind or words to that effect and had no worries at all. I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15020 Looking for advice on whether this variation in tile colour is acceptable. The large tile on the left was used in my main bathroom renovation 1 year ago. My ensuite… 0 8392 yes it does, you've just not understood it. theres a difference. 4 5206 |
