We were REALLY surprised that the exhibition home on the corner got approved so quickly after registration, Council told us that they allow 1 lot per sub division to be approved early or something like that. We have everything done just waiting for the admin backend to push things through, took about 10 weeks in council to get approved, but things are definitely moving in our area. Re: “Project Dream Home” – Cammeray @ Middleton Grange 27Oct 02, 2012 3:49 pm Went to visit our site a few nights ago, fences are up. Preparation for the slab is happening. Piers have been done. We are thrilled. Hope the weather holds up. Hi and congrats neigboureeno..... Great to hear that your building right next to us. Yes, CSB house next to us is flying through. I didn't know about the 1 lot per subdivision being approved early. Very lucky. It took us quite a bit of time as well to push all the papers through, back for forth, but its all happening now. 10 weeks in council? that's quite long. Best of luck on your build process... Re: “Project Dream Home” – Cammeray @ Middleton Grange 28Oct 09, 2012 1:33 pm The Rawson banner has now been attached to the fence with our site managers details and construction certificate. Slab has been poured late last week... absolutely happy to see something on our land w00t.. Decided to visit our site yesterday and saw the plumbers installing the pipes/drainage along the side of our slab. To our surprise, while we were onsite, bumped into a fellow Rawson Builder who advised that his in drafting stage for a single storey metford design out at the Hermitage estate. If your on here, nice to have met you and best of luck on your project. Supervisor advised that the frames have been ordered and will be delivered by Friday this week. We'll upload some pictures soon. super happy!! Re: “Project Dream Home” – Cammeray @ Middleton Grange 35Oct 11, 2012 12:09 pm Hi Tommynxtine (can I call you TommyT? easier to type), YAY for retaining your surfmist roof. Great clean look and much more energy efficient!! You will find it helps heaps, even running the air con will be more efficient!! YOU have a SLAB CONGRATS Your combo of brick and cladding with timber touches looks great Following your build with interest!! Re: “Project Dream Home” – Cammeray @ Middleton Grange 36Oct 11, 2012 7:27 pm It's nice to hear that everyone is having such positive experiences with Rawson. My husband and I have just signed up (pre-tender) to build a Cammeray 36. So now we are just waiting for our formal tender doc to be finalised! So exciting to have the process finally underway. The sales staff at Hunter homeworld are fabulous I've been asking 100's questions and they are always happy to help and very quick to respond. Tommynxtine I was so glad to find someone builing the Cammeray 36 also. You mentioned you made a heap of changes to the design. Do you mind me asking what the major changes you made were? We are looking at the vouge facade, adding butlers pantry, and converting lounge downstairs to 5th bed with ensuite. Anyway, I'd appreciate any tips/hints you can share - this is our first build and are starting to feel overwhelmed with the amount of info there is out there! Re: “Project Dream Home” – Cammeray @ Middleton Grange 37Oct 12, 2012 4:49 am Xtine- Love the panoramic photos! Sullivan - Congrats on signing with R. There is bunch of other R people in the Benham 33 thread if you need any other advice. We are in Port Stephens and building a modified fernside 38. We also went through the hunter homeworld sales staff. They are the best sales people that I have dealt with. Paul has been a godsend for us. Join us in the Benham 33 thread, there is quite a few of us in there. I think I need as much advice as I can get at this stage. I'm feeling okay about the build as my Husband is a tradie and father-in-law owner builder so they know the process - but very nervous about getting thru the tender/contract and Council phases. On the bright side I'm very much looking forward to colour selection! Re: “Project Dream Home” – Cammeray @ Middleton Grange 40Oct 12, 2012 9:40 am We are so excited to see everyone responding with interest to our build!! Treeseachanger - We are really happy we kept the surf mist roof! We wanted to be different and take advantage of the energy efficiency Sullivan - OMG!! yay! we are soo happy to finally come across another person building with R! But we are super excited that you guys have decided on the Cammeray! We were probably one of the first ones to sign on this new design earlier this year! This is also our very first home that we are building and there is so much to learn. You are ahead with family members in the industry. That will definitely help! The guys here on home one are great support and I can't thank them enough! Turning the lounge room into a 5th guest bedroom is a great idea! We decided to keep the room as is and use it as an open study as we didn't want to take away the nice stair feature of the house. You will notice the stair design for the Cammeray is open and has a dwarf wall on one side. Yes, we have made a lot of variations to the house and we would love to share it with you! You can also have a look at our blog below for details on our build. Feel free to message us anytime and we will be more than happy to help out! Smorgzz - Thanks!! Took a while for the fiancé to figure it out. Once he did, he couldn't stop taking photos of everything in panoramic! ahahah Ur build is coming along nicely. We can't wait to see your finished product. Jen1977 - It's good to see you respond on our thread. We have been following your progress and are very impressed with how you guys have managed to stay very close to the 120 days to site! Looking forward to seeing your build go to site any day now!
