Browse Forums Building A New House Re: dvestate's Build - Will we have keys before Xmas?? 201Dec 20, 2012 8:51 pm They better not try that with me....... I have made final payment, they find invoices after I have made payment that is their problem! I work for the Govt Dept that provides Fair Trading with their IT, and work across the road from the Parramatta office. I'm not back at work until Feb so can't do anything to help out until I'm back. Re: dvestate's Build - Will we have keys before Xmas?? 202Dec 20, 2012 8:53 pm Congratulations!!!! How amazing does it feel to finally have the keys to your new home! Next year is going to start off for you being very busy getting things organised, exciting times ahead. Look forward to your pics theshining I have also done my handover with Allworth homes, but they demanded (unfairly and surprisingly) thousands of dollars of extra money AFTER I made my final payment, and received my keys. They said they found missing invoices they didn't charge me on... what BS. Hence I will be taking them to the CTTT early next year.Make sure you get your appliances installed ASAP otherwise they will do what they did to me and "cancel" my already paid for appliances. That's terrible theshining Can't believe they would do that when you have a "fixed" contract. Good on you for pursuing the matter, they should not be allowed to get away with that. Good luck! Yes, they Allworth shouldn't get away with these things - and they have been very rude to me ever since handover. I have talked to a solicitor friend about this, and he agreed I should take this to the CTTT & seek a resolution there first. I am going to claim for other damages as well considering I cant really move into the property without kitchen appliances or hot water. Re: dvestate's Build - YAY Keys!!! 204Dec 21, 2012 9:03 am That sucks, I have Solar Hot Water with Electric Boost so my unit is already there. We are planning to move in if we get the house ready without appliances, we'll use the BBQ for meals or got to the in-laws and eat there. I hope they sort if out, have you spoken to the GM at Allworth about this? Re: dvestate's Build - YAY Keys!!! 205Dec 21, 2012 9:16 am That's fantastic... Great Christmas present. Re: dvestate's Build - Fence time 206Jan 06, 2013 9:16 pm Had a call this afternoon from the Fencer to confirm the colour selection and to let me know he'll be starting tomorrow morning...... So the first thing ticked off the list will be the fence Went with Summershade, seemed to be the common choice of all the neighbours Re: dvestate's Build - YAY Keys!!! 207Jan 15, 2013 9:59 pm Tiler started on Monday, most of the internal done. Just some cuts and in the pantry to do so am guessing grout on Thursday Trying to find a concreter to do the driveway, the guy up the road is too busy finishing his place to do mine himself. Sent a mate out to quote me last week and still waiting for the price, my DW is going to call up a couple of others tomorrow to get a couple of other quotes. Want to get that sorted and done quickly so we don't have to walk on dirt to get in once we get our flooring done. We have an Electrical issue in the house meaning we can't use 2/3rds of the powerpoints...... the on call electrician was out last week to look at it, after spending about 4 hours at the place and changing a heap of stuff he was scratching his head. They start back with all the staff next Monday so will bring the guy out that wired the place and hopefully sort it out Re: dvestate's Build - My tiler working away 208Jan 16, 2013 8:45 pm Must not be long til you move in? The electrician noticed an issue with the data cabling at the hub and then checked all the data points through the house. A few wired wrong but also when he removed a wall plate gyprock came away so now have a patch that needs to be fixed and the points migrated down the wall a little. Our gate and block off are ready and the fencer wants to install them tomorrow so need to work out how much soil I need out the back yard to get it in before I block it off to the world. Also finally got all our concrete quotes so decided on who will do the job, missed out on having it done next week by 1 hour. Should have called them before I had lunch As promised a few pics Pre-Grout Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Grout Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Alfresco Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: dvestate's Build - Tiles done, power working (YAY) 213Jan 22, 2013 11:00 pm Very nice!
