I really need Henley to act fast and well on this one.... this is the perfect situation for them to stand out from the rest and fastly help to resolve this issue with us.... Re: Building the Sahara Q1 by Henley - Our Blog 107Jun 11, 2012 5:33 pm tengals hi, we have a problem with the roof of the forward portico projections and a few other issues which im hoping can be resolved... setback and eave's Hope you can get it sorted soon. Which suburb is your land based? Re: Building the Sahara Q1 by Henley - Our Blog 108Jun 12, 2012 9:46 am its in sandhurst melbourne problem is last week our admin was away sick all week pretty much..... To be honest im getting the feeling this is really starting to drag out...... I understand there is a process in all of this, but it has now been 5 weeks since signed submitted, and we still do not have developer approval.... Re: Building the Sahara Q1 by Henley - Our Blog 109Jun 12, 2012 11:58 am Hi tengals, Sorry to hear that. Hopefully everything works out for you soon. It is such a pain sometimes when things don't pave out smoothly. My family friend was a owner and builder and approvals took him 6 months +. The stupid thing sometimes the council approves it and comes back 3 weeks later and go 'please change this' Our contract is delayed by another week and moved to July. Hopefully it won't be too long until we see the slabs and frames. =) Re: Building the Sahara Q1 by Henley - Our Blog 110Jun 12, 2012 12:42 pm Henley have just got back to me and said they cannot rectify the MAIN developer issue, and that is to put a small pitched roof on the entry portico??? It is outside their normal building practice.... WTF???? Re: Building the Sahara Q1 by Henley - Our Blog 111Jun 12, 2012 1:19 pm I hear you loud and clear. We had a simple change to the facade that we requested, but was quickly turned down. I hope things work out for you. We had to change the facade in the end as Henley would not budge. Re: Building the Sahara Q1 by Henley - Our Blog 112Jun 12, 2012 1:38 pm unreal.... we are going to get stuck then, because unless they can offer us a alternate facade at the same price, we cannot proceed....due to us being out and over budget. So, wonder what happens then, regarding our building contract, re- breaking it and looking for another builder??? Re: Building the Sahara Q1 by Henley - Our Blog 113Jun 12, 2012 5:50 pm sorry to hear that! that's really bad! if henley couldn't deliver, then there should be a way for u to break the contract and find another one, but i'm not too sure though. check with your solicitor and see what they can do.. Re: Building the Sahara Q1 by Henley - Our Blog 115Jun 13, 2012 9:29 pm Breaking out of the contract is a bad move. There's too much to lose. I don't know much about this but I think there might be a way around this. I don't know how but don't allow emotions to destroy what's meant to be a very exciting time. I look forward to some good news soon Tengals. It's always tough sometimes when something good is coming. You'll have a story to tell. Every home builder does. I'm sure if you hang in there, you will find a solution. My colour appt is tomorrow and I'm so angry with my other half right now. TBH, right now, I'm so angry that I think I could blow my fuse there tomorrow if I go. These are the sort of things that happen that evoke emotional reactions. Everyone has one hindrance or the other but in the end I hope we will all have a success story to share on this same forum. Color appt 14/6/12 Contract signing 28/6/12 Re: Building the Sahara Q1 by Henley - Our Blog 117Jun 14, 2012 6:29 pm Phew... Just arrived from the Cosham colour appt. There were lots of varieties to choose from and expensive!! It's easy to see the difference between standard and upgrades and you will be tempted to spend. We had a budget not to go beyond $7000 for all our upgrades. At the end of the appt, we have spent at least 3 times that on upgrades alone. Total upgrades amount to $21K. Our wooden floor alone ended up being $13k and the rest of the $8K went on other different stuff. I requested 2 junction boxes at the front ($150) which was worth it. Our brick was Cat 5. Waow, it was a day! The lady was really helpful and patient. The colours we selected have me salivating. I can't wait. It's like we've just blown the FHBG on our upgrade. Only 8 downlights points, all in the theatre. Thats it! Re: Building the Sahara Q1 by Henley - Our Blog 119Jun 15, 2012 1:19 pm ok so just got back from the meeting. Was nice to meet the people in the planning and building departments. So far looks like we might have a solution with altering a few things. Not exactly what we wanted but should look ok. the issue will be making sure they can construct it as planned, and cost. The cost should basically be the same as we are removing something and adding something else.... I guess we will wait and see, but at least the developer has approved it if henley do what was discussed today.
