Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building the Wild Orchid by Dechellis 81Nov 28, 2012 9:14 pm It's looking wonderful! I love the bulkhead in the kitchen, I can't wait to see ours all gyprocked up. It looks so effective and makes the kitchen feel more homely I think. You guys are about two weeks in front of us so it has been great to see what we can expect next. Have you guys found any faults or things that need touching up yet? Re: Building the Wild Orchid by Dechellis 82Dec 05, 2012 5:33 pm Hi Monaco, It makes a huge amount of difference for your imagination haha! We just got an email yesterday with new pictures and news to say that our house is now at lock up! Great to be living next door to lovely people to do that for us! No, not that we have seen, faults wise. How about you guys? It appears that we may be finished earlier than April.... Amanda Re: Building the Wild Orchid by Dechellis 83Dec 16, 2012 5:43 pm Oh my god! We have our kitchen installed!!! They've installed most of the internal doors, skirting has been delivered. We have our spa bath and the render has been done, from pictures still looks like it still needs to be painted. They've finished the gyprocking and finished the prep for the painting. We were definitely not expecting this when all the piccies came through from my mum!! We honestly thought that was it, work wise before Christmas! Coming along very well! Spoke with our SS last week and he gave me a rundown and expected date of completion - 26th March!! Approx 2-3 weeks early than extimated. SS said the tilers were due to start last Monday, not sure of that happened or not, hopefully we'll get to see it through photos on Wednesday.... The painters were booked in for two weeks from when the tilers start. Around 8 weeks to go! Count down in on!! Our tranfers are in and thinking this time will just fly. I've been thinking about home and contents insurance, but when I tried to get a quote online, it was not accepted due to the house still under construction. I appreciate that Dechellis has building insurance, but I'm thinking that I'll need to organise converage closer to the handover date? Is that correct? Monaco only just saw your post - I didn't get a notification! How is your build?? Amanda Re: Building the Wild Orchid by Dechellis 91Mar 07, 2013 8:37 pm Your photos are looking great!! The tiles on splashback are so different and effective. I think our handover and pre inspection dates are close to or the same as yours? By the look of it we are slightly behind you guys. We are really happy about the house so far and haven't had to chase up too many things. Will you guys be getting a building inspector for your pre inspection? We are tossing it up but not convinced either way. If you have any more photos I would love to see them! Re: Building the Wild Orchid by Dechellis 92Sep 24, 2013 12:36 am Hi there!
